Severe graphics stuttering after certain CS's

I have been encountering severe graphical stuttering after starting the r36 thaumaturge quest. It's happened on certain other rank/mission quests although I cant remember which other ones offhand.

It's not just load lag as it does not go away and it makes it impossible to play the game due to how jerky things get. Text entry, selecting items and everything else slows down to a crawl.

Simply logging in and out of the character does not resolve the issue. It requires completely closing out the FF14 client.

A friend of mine also had the same problem on the very same cs/mission so I know it's not just me.
