    Original Post (04/01/13):

Harvested four large gardens today. Initially I was unaware of the differences between the soil types - I wanted to focus on crossbreeding (which, as I found out later, Thanalan soil raises the chances of) but I planted everything in Grade 3 Shroud Soil. Still, I was expecting at least a couple of crosses. Got zero.

How did your harvest turn out?
Find any good combinations that produced something new?

I found some Jute seeds on the Market Board - snatched it up for cheap. Hopefully it'll help me produce something interesting. For this second Harvest round, I going to go for the Grade 3 Thanalan soil in each patch.

Oh lucky you on the jute, we are still waiting on our plants to bloom. However the dzemael tomatos look completely different then every other plant we have in there so far. Did you notice anything like this at all?

Hmmm, I've seen three graphic types so far.
    1) Leafy
    2) Flowery
    3) Fruit-bearing

I don't recall the tomatoes looking unique.

I would really love to get my hands on some Glazenuts!!!

For some reason I was under the impression that harvesting would return seeds, but it does not. Just whatever it was you've planted (unless you successfully crossbred maybe?) Fertilizing seemed to bring the plant up a whole growth stage. I wonder how dynamic this is, if it is similar to Harvest Moon it's to your benefit to prolong growth? We grew Prickley Pears, Mirror Apples, and Honey Lemons in a row with grade 2 glade soil, received 18 of the same fruits back per plant.

    Any way to confirm this?

Anyways- I wanted to post my first harvest here in hope others will share/can get a better idea of exactly what everything does.

First Harvest I had no cross pollination and I only used Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil. This time round going to try to match seed location with topsoil. Unsure if watering / fertilizing even matters each plan got watered and fertilized at least once a day and some days when I had work of 2 times a day, I had some friends tell me they came to my place and watered the plants so if anyone touched them aside from me I was unaware.

Midland Basil Seeds - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 HQ midland Basil
Demzel Tomato Seeds - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 Demzel Tomatoes
Prickly Pineapple Seeds - Grade 2 La Noscaen Top Soil - 12 HQ Prickly Pineapple + 1 Prickly Pineapple Seeds (Not sure what caused the extra seeds to drop, This particular seeds was on the top right of the grid and on either side was a demzel tomato and an orange seed)
Blood Currant Seeds - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 HQ Blood Currant
Orange seeds - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 La Noscean Oranges
Linseed - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 HQ flax
Midland Basil Seed - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 midland basil
Mirror Apple - Grade 2 La Noscaean Top Soil - 12 Mirror Apple

My grid layout was as followed in case anyone was curious.

Midland Basic - Demzel Tomatoes - Prickly Pineapples
Blood Currant - XXXXXXXXXX - La Noscaen Orange
Linseed - Midland Basil - Mirror Apple

***This next batch I'm doing will have my second plot, with progression I didn't have time to harvest another 8 topsoil / seeds but this week I will. Testing Prickly Pineapples under different top soil conditions.

So I'm handling most of the gardening for our FC. Since patch, I've been working 3 patches with the hopes of intercrossing.

It seems that the system works on a base plant + cross plant(s?). The seed yielded will share the same type (look at icon of seed bag - they're different colors.. this corresponds to plant types that you see grow). However, the cross plant can be anything else, i.e. not the same seed type. With info compiled from elsewhere:

Standard yield is 12 items, grade 2 and grade 3 Shroud soil increase this to 18 and 24 items, respectively. I haven't tested any Noscea soil.

Rolanberry = Lowland Grapes + Pixie Plums/La Noscea Oranges (not sure if plums or oranges caused cross)
Apricot kernel = Prickly Pineapple + Honey Lemon
La Noscea Leek = Dzemael Tomato + Blood Currants/La Noscea Oranges
Honey Lemon = Sun Lemon + La Noscea Oranges
    Mandrake = Rolanberry + Linseed
Nymeia Rose = Mandrake + Linseed

Do you mean Nymeia Lily or Azeyma Rose? This is very important.

Honestly I'm not perfectly sure. I picked up the info from a Reddit thread and all the person said was "nymia." So I interpreted as Nymeia.
