The context was vastly different when it came to WoW, the option was there, it wasn't requested or petitioned for. What problems do you foresee? A few extremists blowing their top because a guy can wear a dress (even though they already can)? Does Blizzard experience problems because guys in WoW can wear wedding dresses and slinky Valentines dresses and whatnot? No, I've never once heard anyone upset over that. I honestly can't think of any significant problem that would happen whatsoever. It sounds more like you're arguing against this just to be arguing against it..
You'd be surprised how people would react to this being an option, for the most part it'll get a good laugh few laughs, and people will enjoy using it, that however doesn't mean there isn't a good portion of people who won't find the same enjoyment in it. Personally I'd laugh at first, but it will bring it's share of problems with it.
You have to consider both sides of an addition like this.
And you can't simply pin it on "Abelist scum, omg totally repressing me" because that's no the point you should be focusing on.
But it doesn't really matter that much if it causes problems.
My point still stands that the developers are unlikely to add it, and that's all there is to that.
(See all my massive walls of text explaining this, there are about 7 of them now, for more details~)
Actually meggings (male leggings) are now considered to be "in" by the fashion world

PREACH
Thank you sir for writing this from the perspective of a gay man while maintaining respect. I get so tired of every single person who states their opinion being jumped on by the OMGURIGNORANT READ A BOOK bandwagon when those are the people that need to check themselves.
I'm also gay and I usually just avoid these types of threads for that reason.
Tights are tights, but when men put them on they're called something else /confusion. They look good and functional when wearing them for outdoor activities in cooler seasons. They aren't any more or less silly than women wearing yoga pants everywhere all of the time. Folks seem to get grossed out at the thought of visible male bits when they think of tights, but decent tights, like women's tights, don't need to be this...outwardly descriptive (or they can be worn under shorts).Actually meggings (male leggings) are now considered to be "in" by the fashion world

I feel bad for the gay men who get lumped in with the gender expression topics, as very few that I know actually exhibit alternative gender ideals/dress.
