Dueling? Can we have it?

I think dueling would add a lot to this game. It would open up an opportunity for PVE players to experience PVP if they are intimidated by the arena. How awesome would it be if we had some dueling going on right outside of Rev's Toll while waiting for a queue to pop? I think alot more people would get into PVP if dueling was implemented. I've often wondered why SE has decided not to include dueling.
Personally I think they did not want dueling in the game because it would allow us to dissect the numbers behind morale among other things, it seems they want to keep these numbers murky and inaccessible as to prevent the usual min /max frenzy that happens in these competitive environments. Anyway just my rant. SE please consider implementing dueling.

Oh goddess no. Dueling was my main bane of other MMOs like The Old Republic, where I was constantly being hassled by other players with chips on their shoulders wanting to duel (and this was on a PvE server too). Constantly having "xxxx wants to duel with you" messages pop up when I was trying to do something was nothing but a hindrance, and I'm glad Yoshi didn't include this nonsense in the game. Besides, this is Final Fantasy, not a MOBA. We're all meant to be on the same side here, not beating each other up to prove 'who is the best'.

Maybe you've had some bad experiences dueling.. but for me it's always been fun, and serves as the best practice to develop your skills. Designated areas maybe? so you won't be bothered? Right outside of Orgrimmar for example ( in WoW) is pretty much the game's unofficial dueling zone, if you're hanging out there people assume you're there to duel.

They said you'll be able to challenge others to duels in the future but only in the free company housing zones.

Big fat NO. never in any game have i ever seen so much spam from high level people trying to duel noobs just to increase their epeens. Dueling if it is put in needs to be done so ONLY in the pvp area

Most of the people that dont like to duel dont know how to play their class they let others carry them through the content thus never being good at it... Dueling would be nice in certain given areas and also maybe a check box that would not allow people to ask you to duel..

This. I'm 100% for dueling because you can test things or just do somethings during queue. But people will cry because as every mmo dueling will be so unbalanced.
