    Monk, Expected DPS, and Encounters

    Hello, all.

I was wondering if a 'good' monk could post a SS of their DPS on dummies. The theoretical 'perfect conditions' to see where I stand.

Recently, ever since Titan EX, I have been in a rut with my MNK DPS. I see posts here people saying they can do 300+ in lower ilv gear than me, whereas I rarely break 220 on the fight if only gaol'd once or twice.

In an effort to try and figure out what I'm doing wrong, I feel like I have been up and down these and other forums, visited the BLITZBALL website, and been constantly doing any and all types of dungeons/trials and CT to see where I stand, what I'm doing wrong, where I can improve, etc.

I've tried to time my strikes to keep GL3 through a Titan jump, and even when conditions seemed 'perfect' to me, I was unable to keep them. So I'm a bit skeptical that people on this forum just say, "any good monk will keep their GL3 stacks on EX" (by perfect condition, I mean I was hitting Twin Snakes as Titan jumped in the air, at this point there is 7 seconds left on GL. The ACT plug-in, by default, will split encounters where there is a gap of 6 seconds or more between and it splits each titan phase into a separate encounter)

As a personal preference would the monk community say it's better to use Twin Snakes to refresh the buff if it will fall off in the next 1-5 seconds, or to use True Strike and do 1-2 strikes without the buff?

Here is the most recent dummy parse I did. The philosophy was opening with Perfect Balance, ignoring buffs prior to GL3 stacks then priority:
    1. Keep GL3 up (moot on a dummy)
    2. Keep Dragon Kick buff up
    3. Keep dots up(no clipping)
    4. Keep Twin Snakes buff up
    5. Use Steel Peak/Howling Fist on cooldown(preferably paired with Blood for Blood and Internal Release)

I have Fracture, but I dropped it from my bars completely. It appeared to lower my DPS when using.

    TL;DR

Good/Excellent Monks please post parsers on dummies and your gear so I can see if I'm doing something horribly wrong and if my priorities are out of whack. Thank you.

Concerned with getting my acct banned I won't post SS of my gear and stats but..

    The below parse is with:

    Spharai +1(Zenith) ilv88
    STR - 475
    DET - 245
    CRT - 452
    SSP - 490

I recently tried a full darklight set on a dummy just to see the dps and I averaged around 280 with a max of 300 dps. So if your rotation is optimal, then you would be doing more with your gear, I'd say around 330 perhaps even more..

You can set the encounter culling to whatever you want, 16 seconds keeps it to one encounter for all fights - just manually end when boss dies.

    Thanks for the replies

Thanks, Misake. I will swap to full DL(if I have it, not sure) and see how the numbers are in that gear.

And thank you, Escaflowne(sp), I adjusted the culling time to 16 seconds.

My posts are really messy, I don't normally post. I just haven't gotten a real clear answer to the questions I have by looking through old posts.

If you didn't look at the screenshot, my dps is 332.34 in it.

Also, my MNK is only i83, and I pretty much never play it, so don't know what the optimal rotation is, I just went and stood to the dummies side and spammed the flank rotation, didn't apply any dots or move at all to utilize any of the rear combo - and that was 324 DPS, so with more gear and right rotation, should be way above that on dummies, think many have shown doing 370-400 on dummies (not real fights).

    that was with:

    Hellish Claws ilvl83
    STR 462
    CRIT 454
    DET 334
    SSPD: 341

I will say your 245 DET strikes me as way low, pretty sure most MNKs AND DRGs I see stack DET

Overall DPS same duration as you: http://i.imgur.com/xU3CSQb.png

    DPS pie chart: http://i.imgur.com/E9sSLJx.png

Like I said, using laziest rotation possible, just flank attacking. Adding gear and good rotation should be way higher than 330 I would think, and have seen others post.

adding in touch of death upped flank rotation to 330.18 dps

Oh sorry, I didn't see the tiny url. Well It's fine I guess. It's probably possible to push alil more but 330 ain't bad.. Let me know your parse with the DL.

EDIT: And to answer the question why you're doing less dps on Titan extreme; there are plenty of reasons, it may be that you don't know the fight 100% which makes you hesitant and/or cannot perform optimally. I suggest you watch some videos (the good ones) and see if you could learn some tricks to maximize your dps.

To keep your GL on Titan EM:

First jump: you must have recently completed an attack within a second of his jump, and run towards the center as he's falling. You can lose GL if he jumps before you get your attack off, it's semi-RNG factored since crits and such can push him beyond your ability to predict his jump to the second.
Second jump (heart): can't normally keep it, but if your team pushes during Gaols, you will keep it though your team will be in a much worse spot.
Third jump (post-heart): only way to keep is if you push him during circle bombs and attack the center bomb.
Fourth jump (post-super bombs): attack bombs to keep up your rotation, just make sure you don't get hit by an explosion.

Technically, if you don't get Gaoled, you can indeed keep up GL3 through the whole fight. It requires certain DPS (not necessarily good DPS, semi-slow in fact) to do. That being said, in no way is it guaranteed.

Or your teammates break you out within 5-6 seconds so you can continue with your rotation. Nice thing is, gaol doesn't give Damage down that needs esuna/leeche like Titan HM. Like other people have said, your Determination is a bit low and you're probably using a set with high Accuracy as well for turn 5, which is not needed in EX primals. I think you need to minimize Accuracy and Skill Speed.
My i85 monk can do max 270 in Titan given perfect condition with:
    471 str
    403 crit
    300 det
    428 ss

Ok I actually need to ask this on dummies for testing ur dpS. How long do u guys run ur time. Like for example Wp boss king when I run my ilvl90 mnk and with a great grp takes us about 2min. So I run a parse for 2 min on a dummy. I Pace about 300-315 dpS. I don't know if that's low.
