    Please give archer a dagger.

    With the new info coming out this morning that archers auto attack will use their bare fists, I'd like to ask that with the planned adjustments down the line, to give them a dagger that they will use for auto attack.

    I wouldn't think any archer would want to damage their bare fists hitting some mob which would make it impossible to fire a bow later (lore).

    You could do this in one of two ways.
    1. Allow them to equip a dagger in their sub slot and only use it within auto attack range.
    2. Or make the dagger be apart of a set along with the bow itself.

    I vote for option 1.

    Anyway, looking forward to the changes, keep up the good work.

    I don't think archers will go for auto-attack unless they are out of arrows. But yes dagger would be nicer than pummeling them.

    Be interesting to see how this pans out with the 1 weapon = 1 class limitations currently. Plus, they haven't mentioned this issue specifically in any past letters/commentary, that I know of.

    Screw any melee attack.

    SE should have done exactly what every other MMO does for a bow-wielding class, and make the freaking arrow the auto attack.

    The crappiest part about playing RNG in FFXI was spamming /ra to do any freaking damage (unless you're KC RNGing, but let's be honest... most people, and most posters here, were never KC RNGs).

    The crappiest part about playing ARC in FFXIV will be spamming various ranged abilities (now with cooldown, herp derp!).

    It puts a job that already has to pay to play at a serious disadvantage on the DD perspective because your efficiency is tied entirely to how close you're paying attention and how little time you leave on the table between possible attack rounds.

    Arrows are not something that drives the economy. Replace them with bottomless quivers of a type (e.g. Red Coral Quiver), abolish limited ammunition, and just make Light Shot the default RNG auto-attack.

    Sorry did you just mean that Archer couldn't use Daggers as GLA uses them or were you pointing out that some Classes already have different weapon types within the same Class?

    Both.

    It means: daggers are already tied to Gladiators
    and
    Classes can have more than one weapon type.

    This, a thousand times this. I still want to hear an actual good excuse as to why AAing with a bow is a bad thing.
