Should I save my guild marks? What could become of moves that essentially replace your autoattack once the system goes live? I feel this is a very important issue that needs a developer response.

I would save your marks personally. No real news about it other than its coming has been brought up. I dont know how they will handle all the basic attacks. And even fleet of foot will mean less once you can active > passive while still running which will be coming also.
My guess is you toggle your basic attacks (Light, Full, Heavy Thrust, and Pierce) as your auto attack.

Gath and I think that moves such as flurry could be implemented with a chance to proc on each auto attack. Instead of it being a skill that you use it could be built into auto-attack.
That seems like a sound idea, but how will that work for pierce, and the maurader's AoE autoattack? I really don't want to be AoE'ing when I am killing monsters unless I set it up myself. Good feedback so far though, guys. Keep up the brainstorming.
I also think that the different types of auto-attacks will be toggled. Basically you pick either light, heavy, or full thrust and it performs that type of auto-attack until you input a different one. Flurry type skills would have to go onto any type of auto-attack as you wouldn't want to be locked into heavy strikes just for flurry.
I think pierce would be best suited as a job ability perhaps with a cool down timer. Something along the lines of "Makes your next attack pierce through any enemies between you and your target" kinda thing. I do wonder though having moves like pierce set up like sneak attack from XI would be too difficult. There would have to be bonuses to TP gain and damage based on how many enemies hit to compensate for the length of the timer.
Yea.. i dont want some of the good strait of normal attacks be gone just like that.. i was hoping if they would have a proc or something like Lancer's heavy attack that bind a target on ground.
It was mentioned in a dev letter that they would be adding cooldown times to some skills purchased via. guild marks when they remove the stamina bar. I expect these skills will still be of use but not as auto-attack skills. I doubt Flurry will change at all.
For Pugilist, I would expect Heavy Strike would be the auto-attack skill, with Flurry/Pummel/Light Strike all having to be manually activated as before, with Pummel having a short cooldown timer of maybe a couple of seconds.
My only curiosity is how they'll handle the light slash/stab attacks of the gladiator as they basically do exactly the same but with different kinds of damage. I kind of expect light slash will be the auto-attack since it's the default skill that can't be changed. I don't see them going to the effort to give the option to have auto-attack as a skill that you might not even have on your bar as it would over-complicate things.
Ideally, to give more freedom to the players' play style, they should have one slot on the skill bar that is dedicated to auto-attack and it would just spam whatever skill is in that slot for you. This would allow for optional auto-attack even for range attackers.
