Hello,
There may be misunderstanding for the term 'casual' please re-check the 12th producer letter.
(I put in the English Producer Letter 12)In order to keep up with the times and cater to changing lifestyles, large-scale MMORPGs such as FINAL FANTASY XIV need to offer a more casual playing experience than before. Mind you, that’s not to say that the entire game should be casual. Rather, there should be elements that can be enjoyed in a lighthearted way, for example, after coming home tired from work or school, with mobile phone or refreshing beverage in hand. To elaborate, content that can be enjoyed with little fuss, that doesn’t demand large time investments—up to an hour, say—or require a party to be formed.
But come weekend, players have the choice of undertaking more elaborate adventuring, forming parties with linkshell members and/or likeminded adventurers to accomplish mutual goals. Light parties can exploit the versatility offered by classes to conduct forays into beast tribe settlements, something that a lone adventurer would find grueling. Full parties, on the other hand, can immerse themselves in fine-tuning job configuration in preparation for their bid to obtain rare items in advanced battle content. Disciples of the Hand can outfit the battle-inclined with equipment boasting the requested attributes. And last but not least, Disciples of the Land can set about gathering ingredients based on current class and materia crafting demands.
It doesn't mean FFXIV is going to be casual or not, but a game where you can also choose to play casually.
We are aiming to provide where you can come back from work and play casually little bit, or doing heavy play during the weekends. It does not mean it's going to be one side or the other.
4 translated today, nothing really big; already knew reps were going to respond to the casual player stuff with something like what they said so nothing surprising to me.
Anyways had to split the first OP and post the translation within the thread section to post#2. Went over the 10,000 letter limit. If needed later on will move the post #4 back here, and make the post#4 into additional section.
JP has same thread as the NA side about ways to have players spend the gil to control the economy and YoshiP has responded a while ago so here's the translation for that.

Producer/Director Yoshida Here,
Honestly the gil issue is troubling me.
(Not meaning design of the total economic cycle but the gil the players have saved, usage rate)
In patch 1.19 3country Airship/Chocobo Related/Materia Craft/Recipe improvements should increase ways to utilize the gil.
But we cannot forecast how the gil will move for the huge amount of gil.
So in patch 1.19 expanding methods to consume more gil, and watch. We are already working on this.

So, confirmed choco/airship in 1.19
So now YoshiP talking about chocobo's in 1.19... that a hint?
Not even going to post this on the OP with list of translations since it's not even worth it...
JP people were having hard time figuring out the class abbreviations since the JP version has JP names on the classes, so just basically says the maintenance we had today resolved that issue and will show class names in JP for JP locale people on the forums. No biggie, just posting for someone that may ask what is it!?!?!?!
This thread is pretty amazing.
*worship* Could you be anymore amazing? Thank you for all your hard work.
