SE, Please fix this FC exploit

I call this an exploit because I don't think it is "working as intended".

Long story short, my Free Company recently had 10million gil (plus half the items in the FC chest) stolen from us.

A smaller FC recently merged into my FC and we gave that FC's leader his own rank so he could form his coil static group. His rank (set to 3rd) could promote/demote and deposit gil only.

While the leaders weren't logged in, he invited what appeared to be an RMT looking name and promoted that person to the 2nd rank which had gil withdrawal privileges. This allowed him to take all the gil out of the FC chest when he shouldn't otherwise have had access to it.

This could easily have been prevented if you can't promote to a rank above your own. I'm sure there are many Free Companies out there that don't know about this and could be at risk to this exploit.

We have gotten nowhere so far in trying to get our gil back because "it is working as intended". But I, and probably others, don't see it that way.

This is what I would like to see changed/added:
1. Change it so hierarchy actually matters. (can't promote above one's own rank, etc)
2. Show the "who" invites/promotes/demotes in the chat log and also record it in the activity log.
3. Add a notification setting for leadership positions to see when items are removed/deposited into the Free Company chest (on/off feature) - something similar to something selling on the market wards, except it would say "Name withdraws .... from the Free Company Chest"



If you run a FC and didn't know about this exploit/loophole, I would suggest looking over who can do what. Don't let this happen to you.

Being able to promote above one's own rank is a pretty blatant design flaw, and should never work like that. It's extremely disappointing if SE really calls this working as intended. I don't blame you at all for assuming it would work the way you thought, since most rational people would expect it to. Good luck getting your stuff back. I encourage you to make repeated inquiries and don't just accept the first "no" you get. You aren't in the wrong here and you deserve to have the situation resolved.

Agreed Theft is Theft no matter what way you look at it & the fact SE if saying "Working as intended" is reason for concern. That right there is quitting motivation.

I agree, in EVERY other game with guild hierarchy no matter what privileges you give to someone they have never been able to promote any above the rank you have set for them. If this is not considered an exploit I really don't know what is because a member with privileges to promote any sub member ranks should not be able to grant leader/officer status to anyone EVER.

Master should have absolute promotion rights.
Officer/Leader should at least have the right to promote to the highest rank under them.
Everything else the same as above.

Not to be rude , but sounded like you guys got trolled on it. Sound like you gave the one leader the master promotion and then he promoted the guy and They ripped you off. If he was the master then he had full controll. and your box some how went there? wierd? they add FC merges? I think a master can be a recruit type player if they want to.

What it sounds like you guys joined them and the one guy had the main promotions and you guys did not notice it. If you happen to have did everything text side i would think a GM call would have fixed it. If like FFXI. Not sure if this like other mmos do it that way also, but most merges best to make sure it text stuff. hard to say how well they do it on this game.

There was something like that use happen on rusty hearts mmo , guilds.

In FFXI you had no "Guildbank"

And read, not they where swallowed, they swallowed. They gave one of the newcommers a Rank 3 within their rank structure with his own rights, he somehow was able to promote someone to have full access to everything.

I know from WoW. If you were able to invite and promote, you were not able to promote someone over your own rank and you were not able to demote people with rank above your own.

The leader, myself, and another 2nd in command have sent in player abuse/RMT tickets and have only gotten copy and paste responses back. Part of that response states that they can't do anything about it because "it is working as intended" and that if we want it changed to post on the Lodestone.

We are going to try the STF next to try and get our gil back.

The person who did this is still hopping from FC to FC to try and scam them. He begs to be given permissions which will allow him access to their FC chest.
