Before i start this is going be a long post.
Also i apologise in advance for my typing skills lol.
Basically i have an idea for a card game i would like some feedback/ideas on.
So lets start with card acquisition.
Can anyone remember soultrapper from ffxi? this could be used to take pics of monsters
with souplates these can be acquired with grand company seals or they could come
from gathering jobs with the monster picture dependant on which zone it was gathered in.
The cards themselves once acquired would have a elemental affinity on each side with
one empty socket on each side also for materia to be attached to it by crafters.
The stat caps for each slot would be random and monster specific like a adamantoise
would have a higher vit stat cap.
Also materia can only be slotted to its corresponding element
Earth>vit
Fire>str
Water>mnd
Thunder>dex
Ice>int
Wind>agi
Light>hp
Dark>mp
I know no agi stat in game this is something that would have to be added or if anyone
can think of another stat please feel free to suggest it.
Each card should also have a job in the centre of it.
Each job should also have different effects for each card
Pld could double the cards number if your card is the defending card
or it could double the number of any earth based stat on the card while
lowering any ice based stat.
Each job could have its own elemental affinity.
Think that's everything about card acquisition.
Now the board would be similar to that from ffviii.
9 squares where cards can be placed.
Now the rules.
Matches could be requested the same way melds are currently requested.
Once a request has been accepted the requester chooses one side of a coin
to see who places card down first the loser of this goes first.
Each player can hold up to 100 cards 20 of these cards are selected at random
at the start of any match.
Once the match begins each player is given 6 cards from the 20 random selected.
Now player a places a card that looks like this
earth>4
fire>1 pld wind>2
water>3
in the top left hand corner of the board this ends player a's turn.
Player b places card at the right of it that looks like this
earth>4
ice>2 blm light>3
water>2
Now because wind is weak to ice the number for ice would double to 4 then double
again to 8 as its a blm card and gets a boost for int player b wins 1 point
and player a's card is removed from the field.
Now player b takes his second turn he places card with same stats as before to
the left of his last card.
Player a then places same card he played first time below player b's new card
he wins as its a pld card he gets a boost to his earth stat making it 8
earth>8 is higher than water>2 players b's card is removed from field.
Multiple cards can be taken from field at once.
Each card removed earns the player 1 point.
As each player places a card on the field a new one is placed in their hand
from the deck of 20 random cards chose at the start of the match.
The game is over when.
A player reaches 10 points.
A player has no cards left.
The card field is filled.
