A week later, you enter your house and a cutscene starts.

As soon as you walk through the door, you jump to the side as a sword (or whatever weapon you equipped the mannequin with) comes down where your head used to be. The screen pans right and your mannequin is staring at you with those lifeless eyes while tugging on the sword to pull it free from the wall. Once it does, it lifts up the sword again and charges.

Which leads to a mini-battle where you have to fight and defeat your mannequin. Once defeated, a new series of quests begin, leading you to solve the Mystery of the Maddened Mannequin.
This is what I'm freaked out about.......

I thought the storylines and world quests as well, and thank you for looking. But there really isn't a dev tag for a topic like this. I guess I'll start with 1002 and see where it goes from there.

EDIT: Appears I can't edit tags after the threads been made :/

    note:

    Instanced shops makes no sense.
    Non-instanced shops makes sense.

    but

    Instanced housing makes sense.
Non-instanced housing has a lot of problems.

Therefore shops tied to an instanced MH will not work.

I am hoping that if Player Companies (not to be confused with Public Companies) actually make it into the game they come with Player Company housing. By this I mean a house/headquarters if you will for our LS/Player Company where we have access to various features. In our House I would like the following things:
    • A main communal room which we can decorate and also mount trophies from our NM's kills and completed missions
    • A Communal Storage area where I can drop off mats and items which I may not find useful but a crafter in our LS might.
    • A Chocobo stables for raising our Chocobo's and looking after them.
    • An Airship landing pad for our Airship.
    • A dock for our boat.
    • Private quarters that we can decorate and also storage for our gear that we wouldn't put in the communal storage.
    • A crafter area that you could kit out with support benches.
    • A garden would also be nice too that we could grow things in.

If they could do all that I would be very happy.

    *EDIT*

I added those Dev Tags for you, well I added Dev 1002 and Dev 1003 as there doesn't seem to be one strictly for this type of thing.

I would love any game that offered something like that. You had me sold before "airship landing pad" but I just can't get that part out of my head. <3 Taking the fight to the Garlean Empire, traveling to parts unknown, throwing birthday parties at 30,000 feet*.

    *Cake not included.

Thank you very much, and I figured out how to do it myself as well!

Works fine in EQ2. You just need a search function which SE has now proved they can actually add.

    Housing Ideas

In response to Cendres asking to keep these ideas to one thread, and with this thread with the highest reply count, I'll consolidate some of my ideas here...

I'd love to see the initial "house" we get start out as a rundown ruined shack. Where calling it a hovel would be a complement and we can only one day hope of upgrading to that. Then through a series of quests and other renovations, the place expands and becomes a place you would want to bring people over to.

Once the place has improved to the point that your retainer isn't afraid of stepping foot inside, more quests are involved that increase his/her inventory space and how much can be sold via the Auction counter.

    Structures:
Every LS house starts with a main hall, your basic of basic structures. Guild leader selects the main hall from a list of options of varying materials and architecture types. Then, once the main hall has been built, more options become available.

    For the DoH:
    • Kitchen
    • Forge (Covers both Blacksmith and Armorers)
    • Woodshop
    • Gemmary
    • Leather Workshop
    • Alchemy Workshop

Building these will grant LS members access to common crafting support. Each can be upgraded twice, each upgrade allowing for additional support. Namely, Guild and Master.

    For the DoL:
    • Garden
    • Pond/Aquarium
    • Archaeology

I first saw a Pond/Aquarium and Archaeology being suggested here by Lienn and I just thought they were wonderful ideas. Fishers cultivate and catch rare fish, Miners could search for and discover lost relics (that hold some level of importance, from activating LS wide quests or just for selling to fill the LS coffers), and Botanist tend the gardens, harvesting rare and useful materials.

    Other Structures:
    • LS Safe/Bank - (Upgradeable to hold more items)
    • Trophy Room - Visual representation of achievements the LS has earned together
    • Chocobo Stables
    • Locker Room - (Private storage for Individual LS members)
    • Second Floor
    • Basement

    And the most important structures...:
    • Boat Dock
    • Boat
    • Airship Dock
    • Airship

That doesn't even cover all the armaments and other decided needed to build a sturdy, durable, offensively powerful boat or airship.

Maybe some LS currency for work rendered in the name of the LS to be used to purchase items and gears in the bank?

I think the Mog Shop could be more on a personal level of buying goods. What i mean is that they can take the Disgaea route and make it where if you bought items from your shop, you'd level it up, where you can buy better equipments and stuff.

Along with that, you'd need to sell certain materials to your mog/retainer in order for them to create new ones for you to buy. So say you wanted them to be able to sell Brass Lances, you'd have to have leveled your shop to level 17-20 and have to have sold enough Brass Ingots and Copper Lances in order for them to sell Brass Lances.

However, that is not to say they would sell them at a reasonable price, crafting one yourself would be far less costly, but not everyone likes to craft, so this would make for a great alternative.
