    Ask Questions for Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XII! (Assitant Director Takai)

    Hey everyone!

    We're pleased to announce the next Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XII focusing on the many exciting updates coming with Patch 2.2! This next Live Letter will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 4:00 a.m. (PST) / 12:00 (GMT)!

    In this thread we'd like you to specifically pose questions to Assistant Director Hiroshi Takai. In addition to collecting your questions in real-time via Twitter, we will also use this thread to gather your questions ahead of time and answer them during the event.

    Do you consider reintroduction of visible belts? The vanity slot system seems a good spot for belts.

    Will I be able to use my Avegant Glyph or Rift helmet to play online and/or will you have to add in special things for helmet users in a later update.

    Q1: From a design standpoint, what is the projected timeline for new classes/jobs introduction and increase in max levels?

    Q2: From a PVE standpoint, should classes be tweaked to be slightly further for differentiation purposes? ie: Monks specialising in more damage on the flanks (and additional damage to undead perhaps?), Dragoon doing more damage on the back (additional damage to dragons), and perhaps when thief gets released, specialise in critical damage. At the moment, for DPS classes especially, the trend is just rotation based with a debuff thrown in. There was a more distinct difference in classes back in FF11, both in flavour and usage. Are there plans to further innovate the current jobs?

    Q3. Should additional jobs be added to the game, how will this affect the class system? The class system feels underwhelming and serves no purpose at the moment, except for a stepping stone for the job advancement quest. Would it not be better to just abolish the class system?

    What would you state as the most important thing that defines FFXIV ARR over other MMOs, whether in game now or direction it is going with the roadmap?

    When can we expect to see more jobs and/or a level cap increase and will there ever be any direct tie-ins with Final Fantasy XI, such as a Cavernous Maw that leads to Vana'diel?

    EDIT: Also, what's the general direction for loot going forward? Will we continue to simply grind for coffers & myth, or will there be new currencies to farm and/or a return of items actually dropping from the NMs themselves thereby giving Thief a reason to exist?
