Because most of the time they're looking for an in progress at a certain point. Now they know they might get in before the first boss is even dead.
So two things will come of this change.
1: They'll still be fishing for in progress runs by waiting until they get a 0/1.
2: They'll join, see that it's not at the boss they want, and then immediately leave the group penalty free because the 30 minute debuff doesn't apply to in progress runs.
But if they are looking for in progress party, witch they do....once they see that its a begining party they will withdraw again!
And this is 90% of the case why they withdraw, because they are put in starter party not in in progress one !
Or am i mistaken something here ?
This is false actually. If the group is full at the time of you leaving, you still get the penalty.
While it is a welcome change.. I hope that it is a temporary fix till they make it a total blind system, with the player option to check *Join in progress* of course.
As people are saying, the fishing will continue otherwise. This will just deter the *hardcore fishing* (joining at Archeon/KB onry)... el oh el...
I'm happy that they at least acknowledge it as a problem in need of redress...even if their solution leaves a lot to be desired.
So you're telling that if it says 0/1 that can be anything from a barely started run to a 3/4 progress run? Also, I don't get a penalty for leaving if I'm the replacement?
Music to my ears.
Not sure how this is fixing anything but I'm perfectly okay with this. Keep up the good work SE.
This fixes nothing, if you join a session in progress and you don't like it because it's too far/early in the raid you can quit with no penalty. Not sure if mention in this thread but there is no time out penalty for leaving an instance if you joined session in progress
