Housing Ideas and Feature Requests

- Would have less stuctures to render when porting into the distict, save for a number of sorrounding apartment buildings and landscapes.

- no need for wards as one apartment district can contain massive apartment buildings, housing a multitude of apartment units.

- Apartment units would have bigger horizontal and vertical spaces for non constricted placement of lofts and other interior design decorations.

- Apartment districts can be established at reconstructed war torn areas like ishgard, hopefully ala mhigo, mor dhona, and doma.

- Enabled for indoor gardening the capacity of a large house.

- auto clean public stables.

- Has a balcony with an outdoor view of sorrounding buildings and landscapes, following day and night cycle as well as weather conditions.

- still subject for auto demolition but it takes 365 days of inactivity for auto demolition to be applied.

- readily available for players that have completed the necessary quest for housing eligibility.

- additionally, people can still attempt to buy plotted houses but will have to take into account that it is a limited resource, thus there is no guarantee of its availability at the desired time of purchase.

Why the heck can't we wallpaper white (blank) partitions? It still baffles me that this isn't possible. Wallpaper can be placed on other "blank" partitions, but they have the all that trimming getting in the way. >_> Please give us proper blank partitions!

I would like to see models of the submarines, just like we have airship-models!

Also: Signs (both for in- and outdoors) that we can write on ourself. It doesnt has to show on the actual piece of furniture, that could just have some eorzean generic letters on it, but when interacting with them anyone with furnishing rights can write something, everyone else can read whats been written. A bit like how we can leave notes in the guestbook (something that tells me that this is actually possible). I'd be okay with being limited to a certain amount of those or only being able to put a limited amount of letters on one such sign.

I'm not sure if this has been requested before but as someone whos currently struggling with the housing menu again, one feature I'd like to see would be the option to lock furniture in a place - a bit like we can lock our hotbars/skills. Right clicking the funiture in the housing menu would give you the option to "lock that furniture in place" (a little lock icon could appear next to furniture that has been locked) and until you unlock the item, it cant be moved.

Make an utlra elite ward with only M and L plots.
Double the price on those wards, remove the FC restriction (that only FC's can buy)

This could serve as a "beverly hills" of housing wards, its a good Gil sync, andit fixes the supply shortage of M and L houses.

The challenge then becomes working your ass off to aquire the gil. (and not beating other players to the punch whichis what the challenge is now...)

Suggestion: Slanted Wall Partitions, Arch Doors, Slanted Door Partitions

I'm just posting this from my other thread!
There are alot of frustrating things when it comes to trying to decorate your house in FFXIV- to get any specific look, you'll most likely have to glitch items to high heaven just to replicate floating, fancy kitchen cabinets for example which can take up a nasty amount of Housing item limits.

Want a bay window? Combine 3+ windows & there are abunch of items slots you wouldn't of had to waste if there were premade Bay Windows already in game.

Alot of ideas come to mind when I think of bettering the decorations & build mechanics we already have --
One such item is an inverted stairwell wall, or Slanted wall that can cover the gap/giant space underneath placed stairs. I'll just make a list of items that could improve QoL for house decorators.

-Inverted or Slanted Wall Partition

-Arch/ rounded Doorway (with a matching, rounded dye capable door)

-Dyeable Brick Partition

-Stairwell Partition that comes in Small, Medium or Large (it would have the grooves to fit nicely under stairs)

-Stairwell Partition with a Door (For the tiny room to shove Potter in)

-Premade Small, Medium & Large Bay Window

- Fancy Drapery, complete with tassles!

-Inverted/ Slanted Stair or guard Rails

-Marble Partitions you can apply wallpaper to

-Dyeable Brick anything (brick doesn't just come in Red SE)

-Arch/ Rounded windows that don't have indoor shutters

Also, add more item slots to housing- all house sizes.
That completes my list for now!

For m+kb it could be an up and down arrow right between place and rotate, and for Gamepad I could see it as Right Trigger/Button up Left Trigger/Button Down.
