    BiS Paladin set Solver

Hi there, I also made BiS solvers for…
    Dragoon:

Anyways, I had promised a guildie I would make a Paladin BiS solver!

If you would like to view it

If you would like to download it and make adjustments of your own!

You guys get an added feature unlike the first two BiS solvers I made. This excel sheet has two tabs. The first tab solver takes weapon/shield into account to solve for the very best BiS. The second tab does not take weapon/shield into account, this way you can solve for the BiS equipment assuming you’re stuck using a certain weapon/shield combination.

The solver works by taking some constraints into account. First, accuracy must be >=472 so it can reach the accuracy cap. You’ll notice in the first tab, I have my minimum accuracy requirement set at 131 because the base accuracy is 341 so I need 131 from equipment to reach 472 accuracy. In the second tab, you’ll notice I have the minimum accuracy requirement at 105, because for the scenario I’m assuming I’m stuck using the relic+1 weapon/shield so I only need 105 accuracy from equipment. The next thing the solver does is selects one gear piece from each category (except rings which is two) in accordance to the importance of stat weights. The stat weights I put are parry>determination>skill speed (according to http://www.ffxivguild.com/ff14-arr-g...ation-materia/) , the actual number for the weights are arbitrary, although if someone knows what the proper weights are then let me know and I’ll update the solver and links (although for paladins the weights don’t seem to have too much affect unlike when it comes to dps when it comes to crit vs. determination). By the end, the solver will shoot out a 0 or 1 to indicate which gear pieces it has selected. The solver will aim for the highest total objective which is the sum of multiplying the amount of stats you gain from the gear choices with their stat weights in order to maximize stats gained.

If you downloaded the drop box link so you can test the solver for yourself and/or make adjustments of your own for your own scenario here’s how you can do it….
First make sure you have the solver add-in. have excel open, go to the data tab, then at the far right you should see the ‘solver’ icon which looks like a blue question mark and right arrow. If you do not have the solver add-in here is how you get it…
In excel go to File>options>add-ins> select solver add-in> press go…

Now here’s how you can make your own adjustments now that you have the solver…
Each orange box is an input. For example for the minimum accuracy requirement, put whatever accuracy you might want to reach. You may edit the accuracy you cap you need for example if you’re using the second sheet and have a certain weapon/shield combination or if you think you’ll need lower accuracy because you’ll be using food buffs to reach the cap. The orange boxes which are the weights, you can change to your content on how much you value each stat (they do not have to add up to 100%, but do keep them as percentages).

Now that you made whatever changes that you wanted, you can now re-run the solver. To do this…
    1) Make sure you have the green cell which is the total objective, selected before running the solver.
    2) now go to the data tab, then click on the solver.
    3) the solver will popup, hit solve.
    4) a new box will pop-up letting you know you re-ran it, just hit okay.

Now the solver will spit out 0’s and 1’s to indicate the selected gear pieces. Based off the changes you made, it may or may not show different results.
    ----------------------------------
Here’s what the BiS gear combination is according to the solver (first tab)…
Allagan: Weapon, shield, boots, helm, waist, gloves, neck, earrings, ring
    Valor/Hero: chest, legs, bracelet, ring
    On http://xivdb.com/?wardrobe/5399/Optimal-BiS-PLD-set , this will get you…
    475 acc (3 over cap), 253 parry, 28 determination, 11 skill speed.
    ------------------------------------------
Here’s the BiS assuming you’re stuck with Relic+1 weapon and shield (second tab)…
Allagan: boots, helm, waist, gloves, neck, earrings, ring
    Valor/Hero: chest, legs, bracelet, ring
It is basically the same equipment as the actual BiS set (although it might come up with something else I you’re using a weird combination for weapon/shield maybe)
On http://xivdb.com/?wardrobe/5400/opti...ssuming-relic1 ,this will get you...
476 acc (4 over cap), 245 parry, 28 det, 18 ss. Due to the difference in allagan/relic+1 weapon and shield.
    --------------------------------------------
Let me know if I missed anything so I can update the solver/links if any changes might arise.

The acc cap is 475 or 471 or 472 or something? Seriously NO ONE has the same number for it. It's starting to be a bit complicated to know who's wrong or right.

485 is too much for T5, i had 476 during the first tries on it and no miss.

So far for melee DoW classes I've found that the accuracy cap is 472 before T5, and then 482 at T5. This could be different for DoM classes or bards for all i know. If you think the accuracy cap is different you can always re-run the solver with a different cap.

It's less than 472 in Turn 5, I switch to WAR for Turn 5 and with my current gear setup (just got WAR pants so ACC dropped a bunch) I was at 464 with food and never missed. Def miss in Turn 2 if I was at 464
