Sorry, but even when I'm rocking crafting accessories, many DF tanks still have a hard time holding hate. Sometimes even during a fire chain where I'm using "quelling strikes". Until that changes, the spirit bond continues.

I usually spiritbind all my accessories and switch to real gear for bosses. Doing it in every slot plus weapon is a bit much though.
I agree, the only time people should really be complaining about this is if they are doing it in every slot + weapon.
There is no problem in doing it with accessories and a belt, imo.
Was it in a boss fight or against trash mobs?I recently went into a WP run where a DPS (wearing relic +1 and full DL) switched to all white items (including weapon) to spirit bind. Is this acceptable behavior in a dungeon?
To me, he's making the dungeon take longer then it has to all so he can get materia. Everyone else in the party was decently geared (one garuda weapon +dl, healer and tank had relic or relic+1). I could kinda understand if it was just a single accessory or armor piece, but the full gear list?
Am I overreacting or is this acceptable?
other day I got a CONJURER in WP, there is no way he did it with his AF since he can't wear it. worse than your spiritbounder isn't it?
I spiritbond in dungeons all the time. Usually only accessories though. I usually play PLD, or BLM.
I do make my own party for it, but if we can't get some members (most often DPS), I'd DF it. I would never go into Mor Dhona and join a shout WP party and spiritbond there. If I do DF it, I DF with the expectation that nobody is expecting to speed run.
Reason I SB in WP: 1 run gives me about 40% SB on my HQ melded accessories, and each run gives me 3k gil in return. On top of any additional stuff like Blunt Aeolian Scimitars, Pinprick Pebbles, and Blunt Bardiche Heads, which I can convert to pre-relic weapons. Bloody Bow Rims sell for a fair bit on my server too.
I usually pull one less group than I would for the first part (total of 3 pulls on pre-Goobbue), and I kill everything and open every chests. But otherwise, we still clear it in about 20 minutes or so, which is not really a big deal to fuss about imo.
If I put all crafting gear except my weapon I still do about 80% of my DPS. So unless you're spiritbonding your weapon, it's probably not going to make or break the group. That said I don't think it's worthwhile to have a confrontation over something as trivial as this. I guess if the tank absolutely can't hold aggro it might make sense, but then you might also get aggro while only having 2500 HP and then die horribly too because you still have 80% of your normal aggro.
