Request: Private Matches for PVP- 1v1 and 2v2 options too!

So it's cool that they're adding PvP. At the moment you get a team of 4 or a team of 8 and you go against another random team from the Duty Finder server. It seems that at the moment, there is no way to coordinate matches against your friends, you can only fight with them, not against.

I would very much like a way to fight with my friends for fun. And this would also mean that you can remove the "Fresh Meat" name enforcement from private matches as there's no need for that harrassment protection among friends.

This would be the best of both worlds. It would give those that don't like fresh meat a way to get around it, and it would allow for a far more diverse pvp environment. People could host mini tournaments and such. Also, perhaps the option for 1v1 and 2v2 duels in the private match function. Let's take this pvp all the way!

What are your thoughts? Would you support this?

I think I read somewhere that they might allow 1v1 duels in the housing areas. This was a while ago, I forget where it was. >_<

As long as it includes options to auto-deny any and all PvP requests and chat filters to block PvP related /tells. Most of the 1v1 PVPer's are a plague on the MMO community at large, even better if they do add it they could make it available only with someone on your friend list to keep it friendly. The last thing I want to see is e-peen battles in my FFXIV.
That being said I'm actually looking forward to some team battles as it will require some tactics to cover each others weaknesses.

Well i'm assuming that the way it would work would involve having everyone that will be in the private match be in your party, which isn't really a problem for 8 players. I don't think it would be something that would require a duel request type of thing, but what do I know?

But yeah i'm fairly hyped for it.
