I use a VPN. They can ban me if they want, but they wont. First, because they needs me moniez! Second, because it's silly to think they'd ban someone for using a VPN. After that they'll start banning anyone using a wireless router since it allows you to share your connection.

My advice, find another game to play. If you think a VPN is bannable, the internet is probably not for you.

You won't get a response from a rep as this is not a major issue they would post about. As others have said though if it were bannable they would be taking out quite a bit more than a few handfuls of players for using it.

I played Monster Hunter Frontier. They do everything they can to keep you from playing if you don't live in Japan but they can't really stop you if you pass all their checks.

To play MHF, you need to 1) set your PC's system locale to Japanese. enable the Japanese IME in windows, set your computer's clock to JST, and connect from a Japanese IP address (they don't require a SSN or anything at least, like some korean games do), and 4) invent a japanese name address and zipcode for yourself. But once you do all those things, you're just another player and they can't tell the difference. The same is pretty much true her.

The type of software you are describing in this thread doesn't appear to directly control anything for the FFXIV client, and as such isn't breaking any of the rules. Similar to other programs, 3rd party software is used at your own risk, and we recommend you employ your best judgement when running software not mentioned in the user agreement.
