If it's a RMT hack it's pretty darn ingenious. Why bother hacking people when you can just hack the game. I sincerely hope SE makes every effort to get people their gil back because in any case it is completely their fault and I'm not sure the decade long apology(We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience) they've been using is going to cut it this time around.

You might also have given the hacker backdoor remote access to your computer somehow. That seems more plausible than just missing gil while afking in game.

Yeh I was in limsa plaza, Everyone was hit with the insufficient gil funds error msg roughly within the same time period, 6 people i know - thier gil is gone, yeah and all above the million gil mark. I got it several times while crafting. I think that was them trying to do the trades\hack when most of us didn't have the gil, then others with enough gil got hit by it.

Hasn't happened to me yet (only 350k in my possession) but man if this is indeed going on (from the amount of ppl affected I assume it is) SE needs to take the servers down until they fix this critical exploit/bug/hack and remove the Gil from whoever ended up receiving it.
