Problems with party members disappearing for Ps3 users

Hello, this is a post to bring more attention to a bug for ps3 users wherein party members will randomly become stuck in place on their interface, or disappear entirely making them impossible to heal or interact with. My girlfriend experiences this issue often, and as a healer it is disruptive and often disastrous for our group during dungeons. She has submitted a ticket for the issue, but I understand it has been present since beta and is quite widespread among ps3 users. So I would like to continue bringing this into the light so it will be taken seriously, as it will affect us all if a party member experiences this problem during a dungeon.

Please post you're experiences with this issue in thread and submit a detailed ticket to the bug report forum so we can have this resolved.

Same thing happened to someone in DF. I think in order to reappear again that person has to die. That's what our Tank did when he no one can see him. He just ran straight to a mob, killed himself, and then showed up again.

Returning and dying sometimes works, but not always. At one point she had to completely reset her ps3, that is the only sure band-aid fix I have seen.

Yup its common among Ps3 (a ps3 user myself) but I have run into a couple of pc users who experienced the same thing. Basically the game just freezes and your character is stuck but you can still access menus, move cameras and what not and in some cases can even log out. Its mostly a network issue on SE's side and a combination of lag spiking and the game not recovering from it; hence you're frozen. A work-around is just to force quit by pressing the PS button and quitting the game. Also for me, this never happened until the 2.05 hotfix.

It has happened to me several times when my internet connection is not working very well due to an overuse of my flatmates! When I am the only one connected to internet the game works perfectly for me.

Has happened to me on PC several times as well but it's only ever during Duty Finder instances and in fact it's always happened during Castrum Meridianum or The Praetorium. Had it happen a few times in 1.0 during Ifrit as well though.

Yup happens to me a lot as well(PS3 user) and it's really bad/annoying when you're a healer ! I always pray that they don't get hit or at least my fairy can heal them until they show up again on my screen lol. But the only way I seem to fix it is re-logging or getting the person who is stuck to re-log, though when you're using DF that said person will probably not do it for you xD.

On a related note, do any of you have any latency issues? I notice my GF has a lot of trouble dodging AOEs, and she swears up and down she got out of the target zones on time. So I just wonder if these two issues could have the same source.

Not really, I rarely get any of the common variety lag (slowdowns, latency, etc). For me its either I freeze dc or 90k and yes its very annoying as I am a tank. Although one time I did dc and was still able to talk to the people in my party. They said that there is a dc icon by my name which is weird cause I was still able to attack the boss in ak but no dmg would register other than my auto attacks which were out of sync, so basically I was in limbo. Funny enough they killed it from 50% without stealing hate. Afterwards we joked about afk corner tanking ftw lol. But seriously this needs to be fixed.
