Controller becoming unresponsive periodically

I've even attempted to play with a keyboard and mouse which, for me, is exceptionally difficult due to the sheer amount of commands I have to have at the ready at any given time.

It's pretty clear from Hakuro's (and everyone else's) responses on this thread that the issue is that the way we choose to play the game (i.e. with a gamepad) doesn't work correctly and no one can tell us why or how to fix it. That's been brought up in every single post, and not a single one has complained about "having to do something" to play the game - we've been trying to "do something" and due to technical issues we cannot. Reading without being ignorant might help clear up the whole "I don't even.. huh?" thing.

I was not born with hands that allow me to use the Ctrl+Num commands. That paired with the fact that my right hand is on my mouse at all times, I figure that, if I use a keyboard and mouse, I only have access to six of my hotkeys at any given time using a keyboard and mouse while still retaining full movement. As I play a MNK, full movement is absolutely mandatory.

On a gamepad, that number rises from six to sixteen with full movement AND reduces screen clutter.

Logically speaking, which would you prefer?

And while I'm here, I should mention that I STILL have not had problems with my controller being unresponsive after the port forwarding issue, so I think my issue has been completely solved. crc, Angeles, if you guys could post confirming or denying whether the solution fixed for you, then that might help to finally nip this issue in the bud!

@Hakuro, that's great to hear! The most frustrating part of this issue has been not knowing if I've actually fixed anything or if it's just decided to work for a while, so I'm optimistic (especially considering that your fix came from the support center itself). I'll set the port forwards now and get back to everyone once I'm able to take it for a test drive.

@Necrosis: I want to say that I was a little bit hostile in my response to you and I apologize for saying you were "ignorant". I've been frustrated greatly by this issue but it doesn't justify being rude.

Added port forwards and changed around my graphical settings. Still have the issue. I am incredibly frustrated right now.

Port forwarding as mentioned seems to have fixed my controller issues

I got another controller issue, it rarely happens, but when it does, everything goes down the drain. What happened is, my face and shoulder/bumper buttons will get "struck", even though both analog stick work fine. Even my "ESC" key on the keyboard strucks as well, so the only way out of it is to hit Ctl + Alt + Del and forced closed FFXIV:ARR through Windows task manager. Currently playing on Windows 7 with Wireless Xbox controller for PC.

Hate to be the bad new bear after all your attempts to fix Hakuro but the problem ive noticed is i do fixes too that work here and there then don't but its every few maintenance's that this breaks so chances are your just on one of the maint that works Last nights maint re bugged my controller again and I hate to complain when so many complain about everything but as a serious end gamer who doesn't play keyboard, this is almost enough to make me quit.. I look like a fool when I auto run off the side or cant move and eat a landslide. It's embarrassing to be a Ilv 90 blm auto running off the edge fof demon wall and being told that since player x and y have no controller problems it's me.. Esp when SE says nothing ever ; ; Ive played xi since 2004.. and xiv since 2010. I love the FF mmos more then any mmo ive ever tried but this is literally game breaking to the people who experience it

It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved.
