Thank you very much for devising this chart
Thank you very much for devising this chart
For whatever reason, the image refuses to load for me. Is this information available in any other form (web table, excel, etc.)?
Bump for this, pretty big piece to miss considering it's better than either vanya hat, and can be used by both healers and nukers.
Edit: determined this caps secondaries @ 16 just like the vanya hats. So you have a vanya hat for both sides of the mage spectrum, with the more expensive stats to meld already on it. ...and why do people buy vanya hats?
2nd edit: and 7 piety

Excellent work, my good Lalafel! Thank you kindly.
When the world was young, the Sun bestowed upon me his crown; always will I light your darkest hour.
hey uh since there seems to be at least a cpl errors in this chart that everyone and their mom is linking to on the internet is there any move to update it or should we be making another one? at least the gryphonskin choker and the vanya gloves i've personally tested as being capped higher for vit and pie respectively than what's been shown on here.
I'm not sure if I'm reading the chart wrong, the Vanya Gloves of Healing have a 0 in the Piety slot in the chart. I have my gloves melded with 4 Piety 3's giving me a capped out total of 11 Piety on them.
Edit: Just read the post above mine heh.
As requested...
1) SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry caps always appear to be the same on a single piece of gear
2) Determation always appears to cap at 2/3s the cap of #1 (crit/parry/etc.), rounded up, surprisingly.
3) Head/Hands/Feet always appear to have the same caps
4) Legs/Body always appear to have the same stat caps
5) Head/Body and Legs/Feet combo gear unsurprisingly shares the same caps as if you were to add the caps of those two slots together (though sometimes with slight 1-off differences)
6) Waist/Ears/Neck/Wrists/Rings always appear to have the same caps
7) VIT is the odd stat out, and seems to have ever-so-slightly lower caps on mage gear compared to melee/tank gear (roughly 10% less). Things like PIE/SpSpeed on DoW gear, or Parry/SkSpeed on DoM gear may differ like VIT does, but until I have some data points to work with, I'll assume they're the same for all.
8) PIE is also a bit odd. Much like VIT, its caps vary depending on the type of gear.
9) I have no data points for elemental resistance or status-resist materia.
Given the above facts, I've extrapolated the following stat caps using several verified data points. I have not fully confirmed all of these caps, but I've not seen a piece of gear that violates them yet.
Note1: In efforts to condense the list as much as possible (thus revealing the pattern shared across all pieces of gear), the following caps INCLUDE the amount of whatever attribute that is already on the piece of gear. In order to find out how much additional attribute you can add with materia, please subtract the amount of whatever attribute is already on the gear from the listed cap.
Note2: The following list only applies to DoW/DoM gear.
Note3: The following list SHOULD apply to all iLv70 gear, both HQ and NQ, but I don't actually have any data points for NQ gear.
Note4: I have not yet played with the PvP materia (stat resists), so I don't have any data points for those.
Note5: Some of my information may be incorrect for non-standard melds. I'm told that the DEX cap for tank gear is lower (for example, melding DEX onto a tank accessory since VIT4 is an expensive materia).
Attribute caps for iLv70 Weapons:
• [Main Stat]: 22(2-Handed), 16(1-Handed)
• SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry: 29(2-Handed), 21(1-Handed)
• Determintion: 20(2-Handed), 14(1-Handed)
• PIE: 18(2-Handed Healer), ??(Everything Else)
• VIT: 24(2-Handed DoW), 17(1-Handed DoW), 21(2-Handed DoM), 15(1-Handed DoM)
Attribute caps for i70 Shields:
• [Main Stat]: 6
• SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry: 8
• Determintion: 6
• PIE: 5 (Healer), ? (DoW/HybridMage)
• VIT: 7 (DoW), 6 (DoM
Attribute caps for iLv70 Head, Hands, Feet:
• [Main Stat]: 12
• SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry: 16
• Determation: 11
• PIE: 11*(Healer gear), 7(DPS/Hybrid mage gear), ??(DoW gear)
• VIT: 14(DoW gear), 12(DoM gear)
*The Rose Gold Circlet is considered hybrid mage gear since it has both INT and MND on it. Therefore, the PIE cap on it is 7.
Attribute caps for iLv70 Body, Legs:
• [Main Stat]: 20
• SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry: 27
• Determation: 18
• PIE: 17(Healer gear), ??(DPS/Hybrid mage gear), ??(DoW gear)
• VIT: 22(DoW gear), 20(DoMgear)
Attribute caps for iLv70 Body/Head and Legs/Feet combo gear:
• [Main Stat]: 33
• SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry: 43
• Determation: 29
• PIE: Unknown. The only crafted combo gear is for tanks, so I don't have any data to work with.
• VIT: 36(DoW gear), 32(DoM gear)
Attribute caps for iLv70 Waist/Ears/Neck/Wrists/Ring:
• [Main Stat]: 9*
• SkillSp/SpellSp/Crit/Acc/Parry: 12
• Determation: 8
• PIE: 8**(Healer gear), 6(DPS/Hybrid mage gear), ??(DoW gear)
• VIT: 10(DoW gear), 9(DoM gear)
*Non-standard melds, such as adding DEX onto tank gear so you don't have to buy a VIT4 materia may not be accurate. I have one report that says the DEX cap for tank accessories is 7. However, the STR cap on tank gear is indeed 9.
**The iLv70 DoM accessories all have INT and MND on them, so their PIE caps at 6 since they are considered hybrid mage gear.
Update history:
• Update 1/1/2014: Updated PIE info. Added note 5.
• Update 1/6/2014: Updated PIE info again. Separated it from its association to Determination in data assumption #2 (top of post), and added #8 and #9.
• Update 2/2/2014: Added weapon info.
• Update 2/6/2014: Added shield info.
