Steps:
Step 1) Completed successfully the fight with ifrit.
Step 2) Did not return to the NPC to finish the quest for about 7 days. Then I talk to Papalymo to start the quest for Garuda. After talking to Papalymo I return to New Gridania
Step 3) Go to Adder's Nest to turn it in.
Step 4) After speaking with NPC and receiving the "Quest Complete" Message he still has a green check mark above his head. I select him again and he goes through the same dialogue He previously mentioned for completing the quest and I receive "Quest Complete" for a second time
Step 5) I tried leaving the zone and returning to retry and the same as above occurred.
step 6) I logged out of the game logged back in and attempted to turn in the quest again and same as above occurred.

I thought I did, but I cannot say that with 100% certainty. I will check this when I get home from work and try again. The funny thing is though with this is I don't remember the quest mentioning anything about receiving an item. The only reward for completing this is about 1300 Grand Company Credits.
