I need server transfer now!

Rather then complaining that you cant play with your friends because you are on a Legacy server, simply have them transfer to YOUR server...

Why is everyone so simple-minded about this? It's not that easy. On Excalibur, I have myself, my wife and a friend. On Ultros, there are 8~ people from work, and another 20+ from my old XI LS. Why would I ask 30~ people to move to Excalibur when I can solve the same problem with three transfers to Ultros?

This is similar to my own, except it's me and 2 RL friends on Excalibur. Probably about 10 or so FFXI friends and one of them has another 15-20 of his friends on Coeurl. Now, just us 2 alone would be bringing 55-60~ people to a legacy server because 6 of us aren't allowed to transfer to them.
I should note, me and my 2 friends started in 1.0 (not legacy, we never paid for it when it when pay to play) we wanted to keep our characters, not start over, so we did. my highest level? 37 ARC/BRD, 150k give or take to my name.

Everyone shouldn't be punished because a few could 'ruin the economy' or whatever the excuse is.

I think people are assuming that all of the Legacy servers only have characters with multiple level 50 professions/classes and millions of gil. They don't. In fact, I'd bet that the majority are DON'T have those things. The majority are probably folks that gave up on version 1.0 about one to three months in and are now just coming back to play...just like you. They may have a few more levels on a class or two, but other than that nothing. For me, it would be a level 27 archer with 47,000 gil. Whooptee f&#@ing doo.

I keep hearing people say this. It's the same with my small group. It seems like lots of new world people are planning to move to the already full Legacy worlds because they don't have a choice. The people we played with in other MMOs are there and SE will only let people transfer onto, not off of them.

SE should not be surprised if all Legacy worlds (NA/EU ones at least) go back to large queues, if not 1017s, after the server moves. I know it's not exactly scientific, but 4 out of the 5 NA/EU legacy worlds are top-10 during each prime time. That includes 3 of the 4 "NA" legacy worlds during EU prime time.

Its to late anyway the damage IS done. We were 8 spread across 4 Servers, we are all level 50. We are all at the point where we run around in "Iron Forge" waiting for something new to hit. Out of 8, only 2 of us didn't gave up to the fact we can't play together. A whole lot of peoples are giving up by the day for the same reasons. We want to play with friends, not Q 3 hours for pugs.

indeed. i know some players are just happy that transfers are..."coming soon"...but my group is
already leaving the game. i am still in shock that SE has failed to recognize that large numbers
of players planned to play this game TOGETHER. the constant delay tactics from SE just tells me
that the coding for transfers was non-existent when the game released. with so much diversion
being applied by SE towards the "BIG" update coming up on the 19th...i wouldn't count on transfers
to start before then. and by that time...i know my group will be long gone.

The development team is in the midst of finalizing the implementation date, so unfortunately I am not able to inform you of a specific date when this will be available just yet.

I believe we will be able to make announcement very soon about the start date, and I will be sure to let you all know as soon as I can.
