FC land plots are affordable. Do your math.

I was pretty accurate on the speculation that prices would vary on the server population because alot of the gil thats currently circulating comes from players hitting 1-50. It would be illogical to put houses at a ridiculous price when there wasn't even enough gil on the server but this fact can be ignored because of one reason. The dutch auction style of the land plots. Even if the plots were ridiculously priced, the auction of the land drops every couple or so hours if I'm not mistaken.

We also know for a fact that more land plots will be available once the current ones sell out.

If looked at it logically, not many FC's will have houses on the day of but you can expect the FC land plots to drop to buyable rates eventually. You may have to wait a few days but at the same time you and your FC now have a specific number they could farm decreasing the wait time as well.

You may argue that rich people will just buy out the land continously never allowing land plots to drop in value. We know for a fact that a majority of the gil circulating is still from 1-50 for new servers and we also know gil generation is actually not that great in this game. When people buy FC land plots, that gil is gone for good. It does not come back in to the market. Meaning gil continues to disappear, meaning people will have less and less gil to buy land plots, meaning land plots will drop fairly low before selling. So the argument about rich people continously buying land plots is invalid based on this fact, once people buy houses, less gil is available in the market meaning houses will drop in value because gil becomes scarce.

Also if you spent the time to do the depreciation of the land plots you will realize that land plots can plummet in value quickly. In just 4-5 days you could easily buy the large land plots.

So before you join this bandwagon of sillyness, do the math and look at the logic of the design. A 14% depreciation value is pretty high for every 6 hours.

For example a 62,500,000 gil large land plot on smaller servers will drop to 6.5 million in roughly 90 hours, thats about 4 days.

    In summary:

We know for a fact more land plots will become available as they are sold out

We know for a fact that as more people buy land plots, gil becomes scarce, driving the land plots even further down

We know for a fact that a 14% depreciation every 6 hours can make land plots buyable in 4-6 days.

So consider these facts before you rant that SE's game design is flawed.

Typos in release notes. It's 0.14% not 14%.

The price of a plot of land is set to be reduced 14% every six hours.

    Example:
    Small
    - Starting Price: 8,000,000 gil
    - 10 Days Later: 7,552,000 gil
    - 15 Days Later: 7,328,000 gil
    - 30 Days Later: 6,656,000 gil
    - 90 Days Later: 3,698,000 gil
    * The price will reduce a maximum of 360 times in 90 days and will will fall to half its starting price.
    * From patch 2.2 onward, a free company will automatically relinquish its land if its estate is unused for a prolonged period of time.

Price drops by 0.14% every 6 hours, the 14% is a type.

It will only drop to 50% of its max price, which it will reach in 90 days so long as no land is purchased in that time.

    apologies sir.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. It says, in the patch notes, that houses will never drop below 50% of their starting value. The %age is a typo and it should be .14% every 6 hours.

Meaning that 62,500,000 gil large plot on smaller servers will be 31,250,000 at around the time 2.2 comes out, and never go any lower than that.

You can't make it drop 360 times in 90 days and be at half ~ Either one or the other is an error.

Also it specfically says 14% on the patch notes.

    This is copy and pasted.
Reverse engineer the numbers: .5/360 = .00138, oddly close to .14%

way to not even read the patch notes genius, it's not 14%, it's 0.14%

    Example:
    Small
    - Starting Price: 8,000,000 gil
    - 10 Days Later: 7,552,000 gil
    - 15 Days Later: 7,328,000 gil

so no, it wont go from 65m to 6.5m in 90 days or even 4 days
