Is this entire expansion a bait-and-switch?

I'm excited for Othard content, like everyone; but with the sheer number of zones announced in Othard, plus how *far* away it is from everything in Eorzea, I am honestly worried that this expansion will barely have anything to do with Ala Mhigo at all.

I was very excited to fight for Ala Mhigo, and maybe have a new main city at the end; which seems like it won't happen now. Is this really an expansion about Doma? How in the world can a story in far away Othard realistically have anything to do with a story set here in Eorzea?

Are they going to tell us "welp Ala Mhigo too stronk walls, let's go Doma?"

Are they going to tell us "welp Ala Mhigans want to be Garleans instead, let's go Doma?"

...that's pretty dumb. Othard content is fine, if it fits; but I want the Ala Mhigo expansion I was originally promised.

Yoshi said we'll be going forth between Ala Mhigo and Doma, as our endgoal is to liberate them from the Garleans.
If you really think about it, that makes sense - the Ala Mhigan resistance has shown time and time again that they are not capable of overthrowing the Garleans by themselves,
the Eorzean Alliance can't take on the Garleans by themselves either, but if several regions all rise against them all at once, there might be a chance where there was none before.
So making allies, connecting with all the regions under Garlean opression, etc. makes sense

But don't worry, freeing Ala Mhigo is still a main plot focus (...sadly ).

We share a common enemy and have been working with Othardans... ians?... already. Either way, what else would you expect? They can certainly continue to add zones to Eorzea, but it's basically an inevitability that we'll push outward eventually if the game lasts long enough.
