thavnarian onion x mandrake = Mimmett gourd
- "You take care of yourself,ya?"
- "So you can punch me more?"
- "Lots 'n lots more!"
From Krakka roots planted next to Dzemael tomatoes I got 3 sylkis bud seeds and 1 midland cabbage seed.
I just harvested from a garden that looked like this:
Empty -- King Tomato -- Mandragora Queen
Garlic Jester -- XX -- Garlic Jester
Eggplant Knight -- Mandragora Queen -- King Tomato
The top right 3 have yet to bloom but everything else harvested from the bottom row and the middle left produced Broombush seeds.
Anyone know how many Thav Onions are needed to break the cap? I heard people saying you may need 12, but I cannot find any solid info on it.
Not enough Facepalms
One onion increases your chocobo's maximum rank by one. If you need proof, it says so on the FFXIV website: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...ad4bb4db15ca50
You need 10 onions total for a chocobo to reach the maximum cap.
Just some observations for people.
1)
Or if there is, then it doesn't follow the conventional pattern that everything else did.Code:Thavnairian Onion + Almond = Mandrake Thavnairian Onion + Apricot = Sylkis ;probably no onion loop then D: Thavnairian Onion + Mandrake = Mimett
2) minion + almond = jute
3) minion + minion = broombush
The seeds.. will probably be the finest pedigree of gysahl greens ever.. /cry
edit: I was working on a document to go over how gardening works for some people, and in the process it helped sort out my thoughts some. I feel it's worth sharing part of it and maybe some pioneers with some free garden space would find it interesting. (You need to understand what's going on in Lyrinn's reddit thread above first.)
Food for thought.Code:G4 - Glazenut, Jute, Broombush, Thavnairian Onion, minions G3 - Royal Kukuru, Star Anise, Halone Gerbera, Sylkis, Curiel, etc. G2 - Apricot, Almond, Mandrake, Krakka Crossing families instead of looping: There’s a loose sense of family trees leading up to G4’s, and “looping” as described above is done when the G4 and G2 are from the same line. As far as I can tell, you can cross G4’s with G2’s of other family lines, and the result will be a G4 of the G2’s family. Hence, crossing Jute with Mandrake will yield Jute, but crossing Jute with Almond will yield Broombush. I suspect that crossing Broombush with Mandrake would yield Jute, but I’ve never really had the opportunity to try it. To support my suspicion though, Azeyma Roses can loop with Jute to make more Jute, and Azeyma Roses crossed with Broombush do indeed yield Jute. Chocofoods and minions broke stuff: Unlike the old G4 items, chocofoods require you to cross them with something outside of the family to get something better, whereas crossing two chocofoods always result in Gysahl Greens (G1). It’s like they’re making fun of chocobos and inbreeding. Because of this, you can’t cross Thavnairian Onions (G4) with Krakka (G2) to get more onions. Since chocofoods require crossing with other families to get better, what if the loop to get more onions would be to cross an onion with other G2’s? Nope, so far those are yielding G3 chocofoods. So why not cross Krakka with a G4 of a different family? If it worked like I suspected in the previous section, then the result should’ve been an onion. Nope, Krakka + (Jute, Broombush) = King Tomato, although minions are not chocofood. Same probably would’ve happened with Glazenuts, but I haven’t seen any confirmation. In the meantime, various crosses with minions have strange results. Krakka + minion = Eggplant Knight (would normally expect Thav.Onion) Almond + minion = Jute (would normally expect Broombush) Mandrake + minion = Pearl Roselle (would normally expect Jute) minion + minion = Broombush (would normally expect this to not work at all) ** But this implies that Pearl Roselles are a G4, and that recipe (Mandrake + minion) is currently the only known way to get them. What would happen if you cross Pearl Roselles with G2’s from other families then? **

Just a stupid thought: Since Thavnairian onion takes a lot longer to grow than Jute etc, can it be that it is somehow a grade 5?
Also, is there anywhere a list of seed grades?
Who knows. Maybe. If growth time is an indicator though, then that'd put G3 chocofood on the same level as Almonds, and Krakkas are really small.Just a stupid thought: Since Thavnairian onion takes a lot longer to grow than Jute etc, can it be that it is somehow a grade 5?
Probably not, since as far as I know, I just arbitrarily started categorizing the seeds I need by "grade" after having read Lyrinn's thread and seeing there's a hierarchy going on. It was a nice reference point for discussion. Also, is there anywhere a list of seed grades?
Gardening seeds and the items they produce have ilvls, at least according to XIVDB. Of course, this likely means nothing since Krakka seeds and roots are ilvl 70.
