Probably a fairly good strategy. However, be prepared for tier 3's as well. I ended up with earth 3 from a crafted 110. I was extremely disappointed.

Again, they should just make Coil gear a slightly higher item level than all others. But as it stands, same Item level or no, FCOB gear ISN'T the same as Ironworks. You're still obtaining unique gear...
