Which is what I said.
DPS pulling mobs is like tanks spinning mobs. It's not the end of the world, you'll still kill the mob, but it slows things down and is generally annoying.
Dark Knight is fragile in the same way that a Warrior is fragile: It doesn't have a shield or Hallowed Ground.
Did you just click through all the class and job quests and not read anything? Because that is exactly what the Paladin is.
I'd be OK with some sort of Trait for Bulwark that let you...
Can confirm, leveling up absolutely cannot happen.
As your profile shows a level 27 Gladiator, I'm going to assume you're talking about Lady Amandine in Haukke Manor. The answer here is that she doesn't have a frontal cleave and so it doesn't matter...
EDIT: Just noticed you're not 60 yet. The answer is to keep your gear up-to-date and pull slightly more than you think you can, use cooldowns and spam Unleash. You're going to want WAR to level 2...
I was refering to the situation that was suggested by the OP, namely Oaths/Grit are off GCD. Which means instant everything and less than a GCD spent in your tank stance. In reality it'd probably...
I think its a question of utility. Sure, If I happen to have HoTs ticking on me as I change to Deliverance, yes they'll benefit from Defiance for their remaining duration. But literally no one ever...
This is a good point. Sword Oath takes at least 3 GCD to pull even with simply staying in ShO and starting your combo one GCD earlier, 6 GCDs if you plan on using another GCD to get back into ShO. If...
But you have downsides. ShO/Grit costs mana and a GCD already. What would you suggest as an alternative, keeping in mind that Deliverance actually offers nothing but penalties for a stance change...
No. They should remain on the cooldown, because going from Sword to Shield Oath gives you 20% damage reduction instantly. When you turn on Shield Oath you instantly gain the benefit of being tankier....
Can we stop asking for the game to be made easier all the time? I know tank swaps aren't hard, but your failure to communicate with your other tank is not a reason to change how the game works.
Avoidance tanks don't work. They're always either overpowered or gimped. I don't know of any exceptions to this rule.
I mean sure, your avoidance tank might be able to tank dungeons just fine, but...
Um, they do?
Defensive Cooldowns
Although we do in fact have 6 MRD/WAR cooldowns, plus another 4 possible cross-class defensive based cooldowns, I've found that I tend to use multiples together. My cross-class...
Pulling and Rotations
Pulling - Single Target
If you are pulling a single target only, then your first ability must be Tomahawk. It is a ranged attack that generates additional enmity and it wont...
Wrath and Abandon Mechanics and abilities
The generation and spending of Wrath and Abandon stacks is the main mechanic of the Warrior. Each stack generating ability will add 1 stack of Wrath or...
What is the Warrior?
The Warrior is one of three (currently) tanking classes in Final Fantasy XIV. It is a job built upon the Marauder class and pulls additional abilities from Gladiator and...
*This is a re-write of my original Warrior Tanking guide, which can be found here
I spend a lot of time both here and on reddit talking about tanking. There isn't a written tanking guide for...
There are a couple options that could increase the defensive value of Fending accessories that wouldn't be completely broken, or abused by other classes.
1. Add Def and M.Def to all fending acc....
Um, Chaos Thrust (DRG) is 600 potency and I think that DRK actually has an ability that hits for 540 or 640 or something when under Dark Arts.
OK, serious answer... why?
What reason is there besides just "I want one", or "everyone else has one?" Not all tanks need to be the same or have the same abilities. Traditionally the WAR has been...
Oh look, yet another thread that can be boiled down to "I want what he has it's not fair!"
I'm sure if we went through the video we'd be able to find other things that just aren't realistic in an actual fight (like being able to simply stand there and wail on something for 5 minutes...
