I also stopped playing around 2009-2010. ToAU was the beginning of the end of that game for me.

Bingo. I'll be incredibly happy if they have a server that stops at CoP or ToAU.
FFXI was great. This game is good. I like this game. I want it to be it's own thing. But I'd leave this game in 2 seconds for a FFXI-2 that felt like 2003-2010 FFXI.
The game already basically plays itself and doesn't really require much teamwork anyways. Why not?
*Everyone* isn't. But most people are. If you look at the threads involving praising FFXI and asking to implement FFXI style systems, the amount of likes on comments here in the forum are heavily on...
If FFXI came out today with modern graphics, it would have way more players than it did when it was previously released. And I'd be one of those players.
FFXI had the best community I've EVER experience in ANY game EVER. And the design for the game was a significant contributing factor.
Troll. Trolling on the forums is great at lv50.
This game already holds your hand through everything from beginning to end. It basically plays itself. Why would anyone need a mentor?
The reason we don't play FFXI is because FFXI is no longer FFXI. It's no longer the same game it was from 2002-2009. SE killed it for us. We hoped FFXIV would cater to us a little bit. But it didn't....
Except they do.
FFXI was the best of the best. It was the top of it's class. It was 5 star fine MMO dining while on a luxury cruise ship. World of Warcraft was McDonalds. FFXIV is Waffle House. And don't get me...
Are you kidding me? Are you really serious?

It would be kind of like if every developer stopped making 360 and PS3 games and just made Wii party games. That's how us classic MMO lovers feel right now. There's nothing wrong with casual games...
That's complete nonsense. Quit making completely false accusations. Strawmen tactics aren't real arguments. They are terrible logical fallacies.
I specifically said that there's nothing wrong...
I was actually a casual FFXI player. But I wasn't a cry baby. I enjoyed the fact that everything was so difficult and required a great deal of skill and effort. I didn't whine on forums and talk crap...
OK. I'll go play 2007 era FFXI when way before it was ruined by casuals and cry babies. Oh, wait. That FFXI doesn't exist anymore.
OH NOES! THIS INFORMATION IS CONTRARY TO MY FALSE PRECONCEPTIONS. LET ME INVENT MORE EXCUSES WHY THIS INFORMATION IS SUPPOSEDLY BOGUS AND WHY THIS GAME IS A FAILURE. AND IF ANYONE DISCREDITS MY...
That's exactly how I felt about FFXI. FFXI during NA release was damn near a perfect MMORPG.

Does it really matter? Just don't say anything about it. =/
Some people let their young kids play a character. It's not a big deal. It's technically against the TOS because SE doesn't want to be...
Bad adhd children everywhere.
Haha yeah. They only level one class as fast as possible and then complain on the forums. Except they aren't really complaining. They are bragging. "Look at me. I finished leveling my class."
If...
PVP in mmorpgs is generally awful. Virtually every game out there has pvp. Why ruin this one too? That's time the devs could be using to improve the actual game rather than appeal to people who are...
The combat system is already a mindless spamfest. It's WAY TOO FAST. Adding any more speed would destroy what little skill the game requires. And most of that comes with dodging enemy attacks, not...
