Here's your problem, you're using Heteiros gear on a PLD. Heteiros has even less vitality than regular AF1, and peltast is even worse. If you're gonna do it with Andapor gear go with Hoplite, but...

I ALWAYS mark as a tank. I haven't played a dungeon where I haven't, and I've also never gotten yelled at for tanking wrong.

Seconded. All those ideas sound so awesome, ESPECIALLY the elemental weaknesses. That's practically standard for JRPGs.
