This appears to be fixed for me since the patch, for what it's worth. I have no idea if it's related or not.

I hope tomorrow morning's patch sorts this out. Whilst I'm VPN'ing into the game just fine now, I'm annoyed that this is still an issue.

Yep, me also on Hyperion. Connecting from the UK. Able to sit and do absolutely nothing, but doing anything beyond viewing a cutscene causes disconnect.

Very frustrating.
