This is something I feel is extremely underrated in terms of visually personalizing your character. It would add a whole other level of incentive to obtain gear. In terms of FFXI, the empryean stuff...
Well that was a good laugh.
I'll say right now that I didn't read the entire ten pages of posts, but wow. I am speechless. Yoshi, what are you doing??
I'm sure someone in this thread as mentioned it, but look at what Abyssea...
There was a line of videos SE put out before the game was released called "The Making of a Realm". This image was in the third video here:

It's about 24...
Uh...have we all forgotten about this image?

99.9% sure it'll look like this.
I don't know. This looks like a lot of unneeded grief between players. If this was something everyone only did themselves, such as Phantasy Star Universe's weapon upgrade system, I'd be fine with it....
I'd take some kind of icon over spam any day.
Again, it's still a forced battle. Whether you can kill it or not. This is along the lines of a "random encounter." Which has always been a pain when you're just trying to get somewhere. Being able...
I think everything is fine except for this one. It's basically a forced battle when some player is just trying to get from point A to point B. Or it's a forced death if the player is too low rank,...
Last time I checked, squirrel pelts sold for about 4k a piece on Palamecia. You can find those off arbor squirrels in Coerthas. For me, I'd spend a few gil and make them into squirrel fur and sell...
I don't think they can get rid of the timer until they've cleared up some server related crap (or added more servers). I've yet to take part in one of the raids, but I do remember some talk of a...
The only real reason I can understand not letting you sell equipment unless it's 100% is to discourage resale. Most games do this on a "bind on equip" approach. It's basically an artificial way of...
I've never understood this and still don't. What do you mean by "zerging" everything? Attack the enemy with full force? What's the alternative? Have people stand around waiting, like for procs in...
It's definitely an interesting alternative to the bind on equip style systems. Hopefully there will be more incentive to convert old gear into materia instead of repairing it and reselling it.
Great job as always, Reinheart. And congrats on the baby!
Maybe special materia...?

You know, you could at least be over-exaggeratedly sarcastic while relating to crafting. It might have a little more relevance that way. But only a little.
All I can say is "Hellz yeah!"
Now let's get rid of the timer, make the orbs more distinguishable, and let us use any crafting ability whenever we want to.
I've read nearly every crafting guide out there, followed their results, and have had higher success chances. The keyword is chances. I'd still be 100% for a system of total player control over...
Interesting article, but I believe luck in games can be even more generalized with a gradient between "luck that can be controlled by the player", and "luck that can't be controlled by the player."

FFXI had it's fair share of lore-unfitting pop culture. If I recall correctly, when you go to grab another tuning fork key item for an avatar battle, the "yes" response is "Fork me baby, one more...
RNG? Is that an abbreviation of "range" or does it stand for "random number generation"? Either way, I've crafted tons of cotton cloth yet have never had a consistent problem like this before. And...
I would be afraid they'd do this as well, but I was also thinking they'd make the cooldown time in between raid attempts something crazy like several hours. I don't think they'll make the same...
I'd definitely be for this. I'd also be for making all crafting leves give you the materials upon accepting the leve, not just some.
