Chocobo training and armor

I'm training my chocobo to be an all out healer... although I'm curious as to where I buy it armor... I see behemoth armor on chocobos all over the place... not to mention the huge robotic looking armor?

Where can I get these or are they part of the story that I will unlock later...

I talked to my GC but I don't see chocobo armor... someone told me the stables but failed to let me know where that was...

Behemoth armor is from the CE of the game, the robotic looking armor you get that when you finish the story, at least that's what I heard, but Im pretty sure that's correct.

ah ok... damn there are a lot of people that rushed through this game then. LOL! I see those robots everywhere. I want one... LOL! I still don't see where I can buy the armor for my chocobo though... GC doesnt have any equipment for my chocobo... Maybe I have to get promoted several times first...

The robot is the Magitek mount, its not chocobo armor (barding).

ah... that makes sense... is the magitek mount obtained through completion of the game? And where do I get barding armor... I can't seem to find it...

My theory is that you get it after your chocobo mastered a role. WHM barding for healer chocobo, BLM barding for DD Chocobo and full plate armor for tank chocobo.

But what I want to know, in the one trailer we saw a chocobo in a Sleipnir barding (Sleipnir = Odin's horse). Do we need to defeat Odin to get it?

Not really. Remember, this is 'technicaly' FFXIV 2.0

Alot of the people you see running around on robotic Choco's are people who had lvl 50's in 1.0 who were then able to go threw the entire story with their transferred characters without having to lvl up at the same time.

Not sure if there is armor for mastering roles, but there are armors for collecting drops off things like Odin. The other armor is barding, it's buy able from your grand company quartermaster. You have to check the second tier, under materials if i remember right. There are three different ones, and you get an achievement for getting all three. So far, they just look different, no change in stats.

u can get 3 bardings from each grand company

1 from exchanging 5 odin mantles if not mistaken?

also u get the behemoth barding from the collectors edition :3
