How do I become a 1 and 2 star crafter?
Best gear and materia melded into it.
This: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-NQ-materials. Is one way.
Craft some 1 and 2 star items?
<_<
cross class skills, hq materials whenever u can, food, equipment+materia, understanding crafting rotations, some basic math calculations
Careful Synthesis II (WVR 50)
Byregot's Blessing (CRP 50)
Innovation (GSM 50)
Ingenuity II (BSM 50)
Comfort Zone (ALC 50)
Byregot's Blessing (CRP 50)
Steady Hand II (CUL 37)
Hasty Touch (CUL 15)
Tricks of the Trade (ALC 15)
Waste Not (LTW 15)
Sprinkle in some Inner Quiet, Great Strides, and Basic Touch (which all come from anything), and you've got the main ingredients to an "HQ ALL the things!" buffet as far as abilities go. Not necessarily in that order, but it's worth mentioning that Careful Synthesis II makes leveling everything a million times easier, so it's not a bad idea to grab first when going for lvl 50 abilities.
A few days ago I tried my first 2 star recipe and used all the skills I can including 2 cross skills from other DOH chars. I ended with 20% HQ quality and received a NQ item..quite embarrassing since I can HQ 1 star recipes without even having HQ material for it. Seems without all those shiny cross skills, HQ'ing 2 star is not possible in a reliable way. Time to level up the other crafters......looking forward to HQ 2 star recipes in summer 2014 when they are no longer worth anything lol.
2 words.. cross class
You will need nearly all classes at 50, and a lot of materia. My craftsmanship is 359 and control 370 odd on all classes, and it took a LONG time to get to that point. I can hq 2star from standard materials. Your looking at minimum of 2 months work to be able to do them well
in terms of the importance of cross class abilities, i would rank them as such:
1.) hasty touch (tho its not used in the 80 dura, 2-star, it is used in HQing everything from level 1-49. Get this first) (cooking 15)
2.) steady hand II (cooking 37)
3.) Byregot's Blessing (carpenter 50)
4.) Ingenuity (smithing 15)
These skills, and some good gear/materia melds, and you can 2 star anything.
