Maelstrom Rank Up Problem

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to rank up to Lieutenant but the NPC says I need to complete the hunting log and a trial and to speak to the commander for the trial. I have already completed rank 2 of the hunting log and the commander does not have any quests for me. Am I missing something here?

found the quest active after going through the story line, after beating ultima weapon.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I was hoping not having to complete the story line to have access but I guess I have to. I think I'm close anyways, being at Garuda.

Have you guys got enough GC seals to apply for promotion? Just a thought as you need a set amount to rank up
