Abyssea and crafting

When abyssea came out people started to craft less and less and now it is like a dead art. Since you can level without needing gear (10-30 in astral flow) then 30 to 90 in abyssea, people have little reason to craft.

some people craft consumables like arrows and food but the newer arrows are not made because no one farms them. No one farms for materials because everyone does abyssea for exp and gear.

Is there any plans on trying to put some life in crafting?

I read on another thread everything seems to be going to synergy, the new augments are going to be synergy and a lot if not all new recipes are that way too so I would hope they would either get some fresh recipes
Best bet is make friends with a crafter or start crafting yourself..

There is still some life in crafting. First off anyone who astral flows and then goes to Abyssea is not going to be doing ANYTHING for a while.

Especially if they're a mage job. It's going to take more than leeching 2 jobs to be useful in Abyssea. You won't be able to proc anything on mage jobs because you won't have spells, you won't have any versatility till you skill up all yours stuff, etcetera.

It's not always that easy to get into an Abyssea leech party unless your LS or friends are helping you out or you're always there just waiting for someone to ask for a keyer or manage to make your own parties. But at the end of the day if you really need gear you can go farm low level gear off of goblins, find crafters by doing shouts with the necessary materials in hand etcetera.

Who the heck even summoner burns anymore? Sure 1 hour of work gets you from 10-21 or even 30, but you have to have like 4 summoners which means you're only leveling like 2 people at any time. Go do a shout in port of Jueno for people who like leveling low level jobs, go farm rare ex gear, or start crafting yourself.

It's your duty to enjoy the game. If you're taking the fun out of it by just power leveling too much that's your own problem, and if your server doesn't have enough people to balance out the people who aren't partying then hopefully the server merge will help you out with that.

Ever wonder why there isnt alot of people on the server? Its because the game no longer has value. If the game itself had a potential to at least pay for itself or became free to play, we would have alot more people to play with. SE doesnt want this to happen since they prefer to be the only ones to pilfer our wallets instead of anyone else! That being said, this is exactly the reason why near every other MMO will always be superior to FFXI! Even Runescape is about to pass it up and its free to play! Crafting is only profitable if you know what you are doing in general! The only reason the servers are nearly dead is because there is a chance that SE will ban you for selling any gil that in turn would give the game value! I just think that SE is a company of people who dont think before they demostrate incredible stupidity! Thats all!
