    • Grounds of Valor
      • Like its precursor Fields of Valor, Grounds of Valor is a battle system based around the concept of training regimes. These regimes will task adventurers with slaying set quotas of enemies in return for experience, gil, and points called tabs that may be redeemed for a variety of rewards. By undertaking multiple training regimes in the same area, players will find themselves able to fell enemies with greater ease and become eligible for more lavish rewards.
      • To participate, examine a "Grounds Tome" located in one of the areas listed below and select your desired regime from the menu.

      • Defeating enemies in the following areas may now result in the appearance of a treasure casket:

      • Reservations will no longer be required to enter the above areas.

      • Time restriction for entry will be changed to once per Earth day.
        • Duration of stay will be initially set at 60 minutes, extendable to a maximum of 120 minutes.

        • Time extensions will be granted via key items obtainable by defeating certain monsters.
          *Only one of each individual key item may be possessed at a given time.
          *These key items will be lost upon leaving the area.
      • Monster distribution will receive drastic revisions.
      • Standard monsters will respawn at set time intervals after being defeated.
      • Monster groups will each be assigned a specific home territory. Enemies lured outside these designated regions and disengaged will disappear, then respawn back in their home territory after a short time.
      • Trigger items will be introduced as a new spawn condition for certain notorious monsters (NMs).
      • Battling attestation- and fragment-yielding NMs:
        • Battling attestation- and fragment-yielding NMs:
          • The format will change to standard battles in which a maximum of 18 players face a single foe.
          • These NMs will no longer use Warp.
        • Battling boss NMs:
          • Battles will be conducted in Confrontation format, with a maximum of 18 players able to participate.
            *Confrontation: A unique battle format in which the combatants are isolated from all non-alliance players and monsters for the duration of the battle.
          • Key items obtained from boss monsters will be awarded to all alliance members.
      • Monster claim and item drops will work the same way as in regular fields and dungeons.
      • Monsters will yield experience points (excluding certain NMs).
      • Treasure:
        • There are no plans to change the drop rate of Relic equipment.
        • Along with the reduction of the entry time restriction, the amount of Ancient Currency earned per session will be lowered. Overall, this change should increase the Ancient Currency distributed across the World.
  • [dev1005] Fellow Adjustments
    • The level cap for adventuring fellows will be increased from 70 to 85.
      • Increasing your fellow’s level cap will require the completion of new limit break quests.
      • Players wishing to undertake these quests must fulfill the following conditions:
        • Must have completed the quest “Clash of the Comrades.”
        • Adventuring fellow must be level 66 or higher.
        • Must possess the Magian Trial Log key item.
      • Fellows will fight alongside you for longer periods of time.
        • Initial duration of stay will be extended from 45 to 90 minutes.
        • Initial enemy quotas will be increased from 15 to 50 foes.
        • Strengthening bonds with your fellow will provide additional bonuses to these values.
          • Duration of stay: 9 steps of 10 minutes each, up to a maximum of 180 minutes.
          • Enemy quota: 5 steps of 10 foes each, up to a maximum of 100 foes.
          *The maximum bonus will be applied to players whose fellow bonds have already been strengthened to their limits.
      • Players will be able to call forth fellows in the following areas:
        Wajaom Woodlands / Bhaflau Thickets / Mount Zhayolm / Aydeewa Subterrane / Caedarva Mire
      • A new Rendezvous Point has been added to Aht Urhgan Whitegate (F-10)
  • The number of Magian trials that can be undertaken simultaneously has been increased from five to ten.
  • To conserve system resources, synergy furnaces have been removed from Upper Jeuno.
  • The following adjustments have been made to the quest "Mama Mia."
    • The NPC Mamaulabion will now inform you of the items delivered thus far.
    • Players may now reinitiate the quest by speaking to Mamaulabion without the "Evoker’s Ring" item among their possessions.
  • Certain teleporters located in the Shrine of Ru'Avitau will now send players to a fixed location.

  • [dev1008] Fishing Improvements
    • New fishing messages
      Messages displayed upon getting a bite will indicate the size and type of your potential catch as follows:
      Small fish: "Something caught the hook!"
      Large fish: "Something caught the hook!!!"
      Non-fish targets: "You feel something pulling at your line."
      Monsters: "Something clamps onto your line ferociously!"
    • Critical bites
      Players with fishing skill surpassing the rank of their target will register a critical bite, and be rewarded with advance knowledge as to the identity of their prey.

      Ex.: (When scoring a critical bite against a black sole)
      "Something caught the hook! Your keen angler's senses tell you that this is the pull of a black sole!"
  • Signet effect durations have been increased by three hours across the board. The maximum possible duration remains unchanged at 15 hours.
  • When conducting currency exchange with either the NPC Ugrihd (Aht Urhgan Whitegate) or Awaheen (Nashmau), players may now specify the Imperial coin of their choice as well as the quantity desired.
  • The new text command "/blockhelp" has been added.
    This command allows players to toggle on and off the ability to bring up the "Call for Help" button in the command menu. The default setting for this command is on; logging out of the game will revert this setting to default.
  • The active command window may be hidden and radar displayed by pressing the triangle button or plus key during battle.
  • The font used to display characters' names above their heads has been changed on the Windows and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

    • The issue wherein choosing "Give up chocobo raising," while a chocobo is still incubating yielded an improper message.
    • The issue regarding the NM Phantasmal Puk's low spawn rate during sieges involving Lv4–Lv7 Mamool Ja Savages.
    • The issue in which the Aht Urhgan Whitegate NPC Zasshal mistakenly identified the minimum party member requirement for entering remnant areas as six.
    • The issue wherein help message for the Blue Mage spell Delta Thrust read "Additional effect: Disease" instead of the correct "Additional effect: Plague."
    • The issue in which effects of monsters' Yurin abilities were improperly displayed.

    • The issue in which the area of effect for the NM Ironclad Triturator's (Abyssea-Uleguerand) special attack "Turbine Cyclone" was incorrect.
    • The issue wherein the NM Apademak (Abyssea-Uleguerand) would occasionally cast area of effect attack spells on itself.
    • The issue wherein the NM Impervious Chariot (Abyssea-Uleguerand) would sometimes begin absorbing damage under improper conditions.
    • The issue wherein the NM Azdaja (Abyssea-Grauberg) would intermittently use magical effects it should not possess.
    • The issue wherein using an automaton's ranged or magical attacks against the NM Armoury Crate (SE Apollyon) immediately caused the battle to terminate.

    • The issue in which the help message for Mercurial Pole mistakenly read "Occasionally attacks 2-4 times," instead of "Occasionally attacks 2-5 times."
    • The issue where the item Unkai Haidate's Hasso effect was affecting magic recast delay.
    • The issue where the item Breeze Gem's position would be displayed incorrectly upon sorting auction house items.
    • The issue in which the following items periodically exhibited additional effects that were not described in their respective help messages:

Known Issues
  • Despite all auction houses being consolidated to Jeuno, auction house NPCs in the three nations mistakenly continue to state that each nation’s auction house functions independently. This issue will be resolved in the next version update.
*The proposed atma interface improvement allowing players to save their favorite atma configurations has been delayed to a future version update due to development complications.
