Can Someone Please Make This SE Text Make Sense

From one of the current 'event' release notes:

    Alter Ego Expo Campaign HQ
Alter egos will receive the following improvements for the duration of the campaign.
    <...snip...>
    - When you take an amount of damage exceeding your remaining HP, you will negate the damage and restore your HP to its maximum value for one time only.*
    * Does not apply to the "Iroha" alter ego.
    * Does not apply to techniques such as the black magic spell "Death" or the "Doom" ability.
This begs two basics questions as to just what is actually happening:

    1) "exceeding YOUR" can only be read as meaning the Player's HP

This can only be read as meaning the PLAYER CHARACTER's HP ('your' meaning the player) yet the first note excludes a TRUST.

Huh? So just what characters does this happen for?

    2) "for one time only"

This is incomplete English as it fails to define what TIME PERIOD applies. Is it once EVER, once per time unit (day, week, etc.), one time this EVENT, one time per FIGHT?

Can someone translate this translation for me?

Once a trust is called, their HP can be fully depleted and they will not die. One time.

If you release and/or call them again, then they can "not-die" again.

Okay, so it's once per suimmon, ended either after a second death or a release.

That was one variant I hadn't considered as mostly when a summons dies they can't be re-summoned because you're still in combat, but in some fights there are times when you can die/raise and re-summon.

    Thanks.
