Hi, there!

To coincide with the March version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui hosted another Freshly Picked Vana'diel to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. The following is a digest of what was discussed.

Thank you for tuning into Freshly Picked Vana'diel 44.
Once again, we had our broadcast before the version update. We focused on the March version update details, as well as other information.

We've put together a digest and an archived video for those of you who were unable to join us for the broadcast, or simply want to recap on all the information.

Table of Contents
  • Freshly Picked Version Update
This segment of the show focused on the major aspects of the March version update.
    • Battle Content: Ambuscade
We introduced a new foe. In the normal mode, players will encounter the hippogryph, and in the Intense Ambuscade, players will encounter tonberry.

The Ambuscade in February involved fighting six hecteyes, so this time we changed it up to fight one hippogryph. Since the hippogryphs had an image of wind, we have increased their evasion using an ability called Airy Shield. We made sure that the enemy can't be taken down easily with full force, just because it's a single target this time. Therefore, this hippogryph is hiding their weakness against ranged attacks; however, if you meet a certain condition, you can remove the Airy Shield effect. Additionally, they become vulnerable when they use a specific ability as well. Players should be able to take down the enemy if they can focus their attack when these opportunities become available. We ask you to give a try and find the most effective way to win your victory.

We're finally introducing the final upgrade for the Ambuscade weapons. The name of the weapons and their graphics will change. Furthermore, they will have unique stats and effects to them. We've showcased two of the weapons, Gokotai (Katana) and Xoanon (Staff) during the show, so be sure to check the video out! The "Enhances Regain based on Dual Wield effect" on the Gokotai gives TP+1 for every Duel Wield +1 effect. (This will only take effect when equipped as the main weapon.) As for the "Increases magic damage based on the amount of TP" stat on the Xoanon, this gives an additional Magic Damage +100 when the TP is at TP3000, and so the effect will take effect if you can maintain the TP.

As for reforging the weapons to their final form, you'll need to obtain a new item called the Abdhaljs Matter first. For the other items, please go talk to Gorpa-Masorpa in Mhaura.

Also, all current Ambuscade weapons and grips can now be stored, so please make use of this if you're working on multiple weapons.

    • Job Adjustments
We're adding new attachments for puppetmaster. The Magniplug enhances the weapon's damage, the Arcanoclutch enhances the magic damage, and Truesights, which is wind-based attachment and this enhances the ranged damage. We're also introducing a higher-tiered version of the existing attachments as well. Additionally, these attachments can be purchased from vendors, but we've also made it possible to be synthesized.

We made adjustments to existing adjustments, and also adjust certain attachments so that they will no longer consume maneuvers, but instead add burden to the element. We believe this will change the combination of attachments that'll be used and the way you fight with them, so be sure to read the patch notes for more details.

    →The March 2019 Login Campaign
This month's featured item is the Prishe Statue II. We already had a Prishe statue, but the person in charge had a strong desire, so we've decided to create a second variation of the statue.

    →Item Hunter Campaign
We're going to have a bunch of campaigns that'll help to acquire items throughout various contents, such as Assault and Adoulin Dial.

At the end of the show we mentioned that starting next fiscal year, we're going to focus our development and operations on a long-term goal of the twentieth anniversary. As such, there may be some time where the version updates may feel a bit lighter, but we're hoping to be able to deliver something that can surprise everyone later on.

Furthermore, we're also planning to renew our client installer and configurations, as well as make adjustments so that the installation is much easier to understand. This should allow, not only new players but returning players an easier environment into the game. We'd like everyone to invite your friends over to try the game out once this becomes available.

We'll hype FFXI together and ask you all for your continued support!

Until next time, see you!
