Good day, adventurers!

Matsui here with your June version update rundown.

I spent the past weekend celebrating my birthday. May was also the birth of FINAL FANTASY XI, so it’s almost like our fates are intertwined. Vana’diel celebrated its sweet sixteen, while I was able to celebrate my...uh...well, let’s just say I’ve got a couple years on our fantasy world.

Let’s dig right in to our offerings for June. But first, a brief word. July is shaping up to be quite a huge undertaking for FINAL FANTASY XI, so the content for June might be a little smaller in volume than what you’re used to.

First off, we’ve got the monthly changes to Ambuscade. Lately you’ve had to face off against multiple monsters at once, so this time we’d like to ask you to test your mettle against a singular foe—a wyvern. When it comes to dragons, there’s one job in particular that comes to mind, wouldn’t you say?

Next, we’ve got some quality-of-life improvements for the Escutcheon questline. The development and operations teams have been discussing how best to display Spirit to players, and we’ve settled on adding a message to the Synthesis Focuser II menu. Thanks to everyone who contributed ideas on this topic, and we hope that you’ll let us know if this new display has made it easier on you.

Below is a comprehensive list of items that we’re aiming to put in for June. As always, these are currently in development, and last-minute issues may arise that cause us to move one or more of them to a future update.
