You need to fill out the template because this message essentially says "It doesn't work". Nothing to go on for anyone in tech support.
You could try the basics:
- Temporary disable any anti virus software when installing.
- Do a 'File check' within POL.
- Last resort: Uninstall/Reinstall POL/FFXI.
i cant even get to the file check i have uninstalled and reinstalled it about 20 times Every time it crashes when its trying to install actv_stts_icon.png on its initial update it then freezes up most of my computer options i have to hit ctrl-alt-del and sign out then back in to use my computer again
windows 10 64
home built computer w/amd 8350fx
evga geforce 970 ssc
comcast cable internet
what other info is needed ?

yes im installing the vista compatable PoL with all expansions
(the 4 downloadable files)
so i finally got it to install i had to go in the pol file folder and delete the files that where causing it to freeze there was a total of 7 png files that where causeing the pol viewer to crash so after i deleated the first file i got a little further and then had to uninstall then reinstall delete the first file and then the second file it would freeze on ... had to do this several times before it would let me finish install of the update ... what a pain that was but now im updateing FFXI i might be ale to play tomorrow now lol
First, after uninstalling, reboot then clear out your registry using CCleaner or the like. Verify that you have enough space on your HDD. Then try to install to a non-system folder.
Don't install to C:\Program Files\etc or the like, instead use something like C:\Games\etc.
Go into UAC and move the slider to the option that specifically mentions "screen dimming" since you need to turn that function off. This won't disable any actual security prompts/notifications, so it is safe to use this setting.
