    Adding Weapons to Ambuscade?

Has the dev team considered adding weapons to ambuscade? It would be nice to have the ability to upgrade some weapons without the same level of grind as REMAs. Perhaps even use these to give players another way to obtain (possibly permanently) the relic weaponskills (including newer jobs, such as adding Mercy Stroke for Dancer, and Scourge for Rune Fencer), as there are ways to use the mythic/ergon and aeonic weaponskills without having those weapons. It would also be nice to have another option to get a +269 skill weapon, as these are only obtained by REMAs.

    An example could be like:
    NQ
DMG: 120 Delay: 233 STR+5 MND+5 Accuracy+15 Sword skill +242 Parrying skill +242 Magic Accuracy skill +188 "Knights of Round"

    RDM/PLD/BLU Lv99 iLVL119 (maybe add other jobs?)

    +1
DMG: 135 Delay: 233 STR+10 MND+10 Accuracy+25 Sword skill +242 Parrying skill +242 Magic Accuracy skill +215 "Knights of Round"

    +2
DMG: 150 Delay: 233 STR+15 MND+15 Accuracy+35 Sword skill +269 Parrying skill +269 Magic Accuracy skill +255 "Knights of Round"

So basically destroy, or at least severely damage REMA with even easier to obtain weapons.

No, they should not add easily obtainable skill+269 weapons to easily farmed content. If you want a REMA from Ambuscade, just farm hm/gal and buy the currencies to make one?

Not against weapons from Ambuscade in general and don't think it would be a horrible idea to add another route to getting a 119 weapon for newbies, but it makes zero sense to give away max aug'd REMA equivalents. Could be a good chance to add gimmicky/niche JSE/RoleSE which could include as mentioned, access to relic WS.

How close would +269 skill weapons get to REMAs without the aftermaths, additional effects, +potency on weaponskills? I don't see how they would compete with 2-3x/round, triple damage, etc. assuming they were given the same DMG/delay values

They would still negate the vast majority of existing non-REMA weapons, which is a bad thing. Unless they had no other stats, in which case they'd be trash and shouldn't be added in the first place. :/

I'd be down for ilvl AF weapons for instance. XD Or the typical role-types w/ several jobs on each (like RDM/PLD/BLU.) Or even stretching a bit, mostly blank starter weapons that can get customized like capes, which would be kinda-sorta like ilvl Magian weapons if you think about it. Just can't have skill+269 since that is one of the few perks that is intended to be exclusive to the final upgrade stage for Ultimate Weapons.

    This.....exactly..

If someone wants a REMA weapon with similar stats or ws, they should build a REMA.... SE shouldn't make a new weapon that lessens any of the existing REMA.

How about instead of adding new weapons, adjust the costs/ammounts of REM items obtainable from ambuscade? Maybe also add in more components from REM construction to ambuscade rewards?

Though some might not like that either. REMA isn't the problem. The issue is more of how easy it can be to get burnt out in the grind for one. From what I have seen repeatedly across multiple MMOs is a rift between players happen from not wanting to repeat difficult/grindy content. Which creates problems for those trying to make progress or catch up. COP when it was still level capped is a great example of this, as I know I sure didn't see a lot of people going back and helping those wanting to do the content. And getting caught up with gear, invariably one hits a spot that they need help to continue or find someone generous enough to carry them through content way above what they can handle.

Extrapolate that to making REMA items. It takes a massive amount of solo grinding to even get one going, let alone finished anymore. Thats not counting the parts that can not be bought. Those who can't play all the time, may not be able to easily get the pre-reqs done. Mythic due to things like the required NM kills. Empy due to certain NMs being a PITA to pop such as Chloris. Relic is likely the easiest to get, but still a painful grind. Aeonic... that pretty much requires a well geared shell to get, and likely most able to get an aeonic likely already have REM or something rivaling it.

Most of the other options to REMA also take a lot of grinding/luck to actually be able to compare, or take a group to get. Have fun going through thousands of augmentation materials for many of them.

So before thinking about new weapons to be on par with REMA, maybe a better idea is finding ways to help prevent burn out when one hits the inevitable wall of grinding due due to a shrinking population.
