Best Mnk Earrings?

Since I'm not one of those people who like to do a ton of math, I figure I should ask here. Which earrings should I use on mnk? Of course Brutal earring, but I'm not sure what to use on the other ear. Most mnks I've checked use Kemas, while others use Aesir earring from Odin. While making the Moonshade earring with Regain is probably ideal, I want to use that on my mage jobs.

Kemas is useless for meleeing. I think Aesir is the best, unless you need the acc from Kemas i suppose. Aesir also beats Kemas on Ascetic's Fury, not sure on Smite though.

Kemas is useless in every way, especially in Abyssea. Acc should not be a problem any more for 90%+ mobs in FFXI, so it loses in that aspect. From there, STR holds a close to 0 bonus on Ascetic's Fury and is marginally useful on Victory Smite (just the fact that STR in general is not needed after a few furtherance abyssites).

Aesir/Brutal is ideal.

Every monk I check nowadays is wearing kemas, with full AF3+2. A basic merman's earring is better, of course you can still get aesir. I bet a monk can zerk it solo nowadays seeing as I almost won it at 75 with another monk. A duo should be cake. The best earring after brutal is the Wotg mission reward, long grind but so is full AF3+2. Plus it's solabale.

edit : kemas is supposedly decent for ascetic's fury.

Tantra Earring (HP+10 "Kick Attacks" +1) seems to be better than Aesir (Attack +7 "Conserve TP" +3). What does everyone think?

I think shoko has no grasp either. People who dont understand fstr vs 60% str mods on ws really shouldnt make gear recomendations.

2 STR 2 VIT will always increase your WSC for Ascetic's Fury by 1, sometimes 2, and always 1 for Victory Smite. So it does do something.

Oh, I do very well have a grasp. It's an extremely minimal increase within Abyssea. Hence, the furtherance insert I put there. Maybe you should run that back and factor that into your thought process.

In that respect, calling it "useless in every way" was in bad taste, I guess. Kemas for WS.

To break it down:
kemas is useless in every way - incorrect, its useful for ws

acc should not be a proble - correct

str holds a close to 0 bonus on AF - incorrect, look up wsc

str holds a marginally useful bonus on VS - incorrect, look up wsc

str in general is not needed after a few furtherance abyssite - inccorect, this is for capping Fstr, wsc wont cap and the more str you pile on the more dmg these ws will do, hence why VS caps at 11-12k with 999 str


Damage = WD * PDIF = ( D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP * PDIF

fstr will be capped after a few furtherance, wsc will continue to add base damage.
