Was this issue from Aug. 3 ever fixed? I've felt literally ZERO desire to play since I read this. I'm logging in for like the third time all month right now.

They are aware of the issue, as they stated in the August update..

Generally with most fixes, they happen with the next update. Maybe in the upcoming September update(?) as they have stated in the notes that they are altering something regarding SMN commands.

It's a bug, and the key word is "occasional." If an occasional bug is keeping you from logging in, then your desire can't have been that strong to begin with. Just deal with it, it will be fixed eventually. Why would you quit over an issue that you may not even know is affecting you?

Of course, to be fair, if you're feeling like that its probably a good idea to take a bit of a break, then you'll feel more enthusiastic later.

It's in the update notes, under "Resolved Issues..."

"The issue wherein changing equipment via a macro would not update certain avatar attributes."
