There have been talks about the accuracy problem with this game for a while, but never more so than in escha areas and high tier unity. Never in the history of this game has so much been given up for accuracy (double attack, triple attack, attack, healing, -pdt, etc). This is most apparent with 2-hander jobs. Dual-wielders have less a problem because they have TWO weapons to get accuracy from, each giving the same accuracy buff alone as a 2-hander gets. There is also the issue of accuracy from dexterity. Years ago 2-handers were given a buff from .5 accuracy per dexterity to .75 accuracy per dexterity in order to make them more competitive, and it worked. Recently, however, all jobs were given this buff, and it has allowed dual-wielders to gain even more accuracy over 2-handers because their armor naturally gives more dexterity. This allows for dual-wielders to gain upwards of 100 free accuracy over 2-handers just for having a second weapon and the natural dexterity boost their armor gives. This is one of the many reasons melee is used so little currently. The "heavy dd" not only can't get the accuracy due to this oversight, but the damage of 1-handed and dual-wielded ws's can do more than 2-handed weapon skills for some odd reason. That, however, is a topic for a different post. In summation, there needs to be a change in the accuracy for at least 2-handed weapons or jobs that use them so that they can be used effectively. I believe the devs have been looking at dual-wielders as their base for melee accuracy instead of 2-handers, and that may be why they think there is no problem getting the accuracy needed. Currently, even with max accuracy augments (instead of stat boosts, DA, TA, etc.) and accuracy gear in place of stp or other such gear, 2-handers still need a geo, brd, sublime sushi/+1 (no need for any other food in the entire game) and sometimes a corsair to reliably hit high tier enemies. That is nearly a full party just for 1 DD to be able to hit, and is thus completely unbalanced.
