Crystal Petrifact needed once again for npc Emporox

The npc Emporox wants Crystal Petrifact after the 100 merit points. For us older players most of us collected the Crystal Petrifact and turned them into the glimmering ??? in Walk of Echoes for Kupofried's corundum. We did this as they only stacked to 99 and was the use for it. Now with Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, they have another use but once they were traded to the ??? they became Kupofried's corundum.

SE I think there should be a system to convert Kupofried's corundum back to Crystal Petrifact as not many do Provenance Watcher anymore. So that we can use the items we did collect at a time for the new use that was added.

Unless this is the way SE intends to FORCE us older players to do content that we no longer want to do.

Except that no one's forcing you to do it except yourself. I'm not against this change but you've got to consider that you're not required to unlock this in any way, shape or form. The only thing that turning in petrifacts unlocks is the ability to buy uncommon/crafted VW drops for 500 merits (first stage) or glowy bodies/weapons for -25,000- merits (second stage). The second isn't even worth it; in the time spent trying to get the merits for the two items that are still somewhat worth it (Anhur Robe and Heka's Kalasiris) could be used getting the drop itself, and I can assure you, you're almost guaranteed to get it before you've done almost 334 refills of merits for each. Heck, you'd probably get them before you farmed enough petrifacts for it.

Also on that note, remember that you generate corundums naturally, once per day; there's probably nothing in the code to distinguish ones you got naturally from ones you traded in petrifacts for.

Since Crystal Petrifacts are relatively easy to obtain, there are no plans to create a system that would allow players to exchange Kupofried's corundums for Crystal Petrifacts.

Nobody but yourself is forcing you to do this and as mentioned before, apart from two, none of the items even matter anymore.
And the items that still matter also have iLevel alternatives and are only relevant because of the combination of stats provided on them.

You think that's bad try Simian horns. Hours of doing clears or 1.65 mil and still having to fight 5 bosses not counting going back and getting th/spoils just for a chance to fight Umagrhk which can still kill you relatively easy even at 119 and then only have like 1/3 chance of getting one. If you just try to buy all the clears and assuming you only get spoils for the boss and assuming lvl 2 requires 24 (not sure anyone has finished lvl 1 yet) you are still looking around 130mil and still several hours spent just to finish this

Oh please, this isn't about him trying to avoid having to go out and do something. It's him trying to avoid a chore. Which, now that most/all vw drops are incredibly obselete. It's just a chore.

This isn't a case where, like with NNI and Limbus II, they reworked old content to make it relevant/enjoyable again (pre-adoulin). They cherry-picked drops from old events that are complete pains-in-the-butt.
