I haven't noticed any disconnection issues both before the update or after. At home anyway. On the connection at work (not as good), though my netbook handles the game fine, I would keep getting disconnected, even though I've been able to play ffxiv and other mmorpgs on the work network just fine. Could be the game is pickier about your connection.

I have been disconnected a few times recently. I figured it was for emergency maintenance or something.

Have not had any problems here. I believe there was an issue added to the SE support center about networking problems and needing to open or forward ports that wasn't previously necessary. You may want to fish up that article on the support center (might be in Information on the official site as well)
