    Freshly Picked Vana'diel 16 Digest

    Greetings,

    To coincide with the February version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui held another "Freshly Picked Vana'diel" to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. Below is a digest of what was discussed.

    Adoulin Lore Quest

    Alluvion Skirmishes

      We’ve added new alluvion skirmishes.

      By consuming the points you earn through the content, you can summon friendly monsters and aim to destroy the enemy’s stronghold. It’s slightly different from the battle content you’ve seen up until now.

    • Arcane glyptic adjustments for alluvion skirmish equipment
      It’s now possible to add arcane glyptics with even better stats to weapons you earn through alluvion skirmishes. Definitely try to challenge this content.

    You can add arcane glyptics by trading the back equipment and a Refractive Crystal to the NPC added to the Inventors’ Coalition in Adoulin.

    Naturally you’ll be able to do this with job-specific back equipment you obtained from reives, but you’ll also be able to re-add arcane glyptics to job-specific back equipment you obtained from Incursion.

    Additionally, since this makes it easier to obtain job-specific back equipment with arcane glyptics, we’ve increased the drop rate for job-specific back equipment in Incursion and eased up on the obtainment difficulty.

    Job Adjustments

    Considering that it’s possible for party enhancements, especially haste, to be cast on pets, we’ve made adjustments so that the damage for each hit is higher.

    Additionally, due to the fact that pet abilities are managed through charges only at the moment, we’ve added TP modifiers to each ability to give TP some purpose.

    We’ve also made some minor adjustments to Amigo Sabotender, and the ability “1000 Needles” has been changed to “??? Needles.”

    With all of the beastmaster adjustments that took place in the February version update I feel it has become a much more powerful job, so please be sure to try it out.

    • Puppetmaster
      We’ve increased the potency of automaton weapon skills. Additionally, we’ve added various new attachments.

      We’ve been receiving a lot of feedback about special battle tactics using Deactivate based on the adjustments that were performed in the December version update. The development team is of course aware of the existence of this battle strategy, and we consider it to be in the scope of how this feature was intended to work. With that said, we do not have any plans to make adjustments to prevent the use of this strategy.

      However, the development team would like to players to maintain automatons as long as possible, and they will continue to make adjustments in the future to make doing so more advantageous.

      We’re planning to make further adjustments to puppetmaster in the March version update, so please let us know your feedback afterwards.

    New Synergy Recipes

    We’ve added items that combine all of the elemental belts, obis, and gorgets via synergy. The elemental properties and stats have not changed, but we’ve also added a small bonus to each item:
    “TP not depleted when weapon skill used +1%” for the gorget and belt, and “magic not depleted when magic used +1%” for the obi.

    If you use the belt and the gorget at the same time the stats will stack for a combined 2%.
