    Feedback on the Double Capacity Point Campaign

    SE I need to say this. I have spent a good chunk of time in this campaign getting job points to make my class better not even getting ready for the newb gifts. But The rate they are at now the pay out of Capacity Point is at a much better place then it was before the Campaign I was wondering why not keep the pay out of Capacity Points the way they are right now all togather.

    pay out? this isn't a casino... I know what you mean though and pretty much everyone says the doubled rate is really just right and they should keep it that way. heck, we've on one as much as we're off one...

    People like the rate now because it is better in comparison to what is normal. Everyone likes a bonus. But if this were permanent, it would become the new normal and people would quickly become dissatisfied by it as well. Even if capacity points gained at double, triple, quadruple, or even octuple their current base rate, it would still take some measure of time to cap them, and that's too much for some people.

    With double the cp from campaign. +50% cloak, +50% ring, +30% or w/e from gifts... it feels right.

    Do I really need a 2.0 +1.5 +1.5 +1.3 modifiers to make CP reasonable? I mean we are basically at 230% extra cp per kill while the ring is up, which lasts a whole 5-10 pulls. I just dont see the point in making the cp ammount so low, then giving so many CONSTANT modifiers. Its like admiting you made a bad system, but to avoid hurting your pride and fixing it, you add a near constant double CP campaign, you add perm +50% cp capes.

    I would say either make double CP prem or cut the cp per jp down from 30k to 10k so its closer to merit point level.

    The double rate does definitely feel just right, I haven't done a party yet but when I get spare time I can go get some trusts, go to Dho Gates and feel like I'm actually making progress.

    Spot on what Roja323 stated. The issue I have with Capacity Points is why add so many bonus modifiers to new content? Constant campaigns, capes, rings, gifts & rolls all for content that was just released months ago. I've said it in the job points thread but if you have to put all that in the game to make it enticing for players to do something new, the design itself needs work.

    It's not even asking for "easy mode". It's logically an easier thing to do given they are already giving us these bonuses consistently. Also easier on development not to make all these items and worry about test/balance, making the system less cumbersome and enjoyable. It would be just as ludicrous if FFXI in launch year did doing Double EXP campaigns, rings, FoV/GoV, RoE, etc because they set the rate of EXP to level gain high.

    And even if capacity points were gained at half, one third, or even one one eighth their current rate, that would be too fast for some people, neither of these facts are particularly helpful, the only thing you can base a rate around is what makes sense for most people, and most people want an increased rate.

    i dont think so. I don't think people honestly want a million job points instantly served to them on a silver platter- they want to play the game, they just don't want to feel like they MUST play it all day long and do nothing but grind that entire time. The double rate feels like what merit points used to be years ago.

    But even after Abyssea, people complain that XP is too slow. When the first double XP campaigns came up, people asked that to be permanent and complained that it didn't apply to Abyssea.

    I mean I'm not opposed to this idea, but I think it's a lot like storage space expansions; it'll NEVER satisfy everyone.

    Considering there's a single person advocating that, that's a pretty silly comeback. What Zarchery says is accurate though. We've had months of 2x CP campaigns at this point. We now have AHable 25-30% CP backs. You even get more CP through Gifts as you spend more on the job. Yet there's multiple people on these very boards that complain about JPs difficulty, and when they mention what they have.. "oh, I've got 20ish across all of my jobs." That's not "it's not good enough" that's "I don't want to bother."
